25.01.2022 Work has started on the new Narooma Men's Shed!

23.01.2022 The great Narooma mass concrete retaining wall has been completed thanks to the efforts of Narooma Earthmoving and a squad of men from the shed.

20.01.2022 And so it begins. Yes a small step forward today as the trees were trimmed down and all the material mulched and placed in front of the scout hall. So next step is to start the earthworks.

20.01.2022 Bushfire Recovery The Narooma Mens Shed has been very active in the community during the bushfire recovery, here is a list of the current activities: Raised over $1100 at a men’s shed cook-up from the members in January;... Purchased and supplied three generators to Cobargo; Repaired the vandalised Narooma Scout Hall and organised the water and electricity to be restored to enable some people from Cobargo to escape the fires; Collecting and distributing tools to fire affected communities; Visiting a different restaurant each week with around 30 members to help the local businesses; Assembled about 100 water stations for Wires to be distributed in the bush; Building a water tank holder at the Belowra RFS; Helping the Nerrigundah RFS with shelving and water piping; Building 60 nesting boxes for the Eurobodalla Council to be distributed on the bush.

19.01.2022 FROM THE HEART Remember the fires? Last January a Hunter Valley miner, a mines supervisor, Pat Archer contacted the NAROOMA MEN’S SHED to see if they could act as a reception /distribution centre for a tools donation by the Glencore Bulga open cut miners of Ravensworth. Narooma Men’s Shed knew things were happening but on April 3rd a truck rolled into town with six pallets of tools conservatively valued at $36,000. A massive donation of new and used tools.... How did this happen? Pat was asked; well I was watching the box, saw the devastation caused by the fires and as I watched one report and I thought, hell the sheds are gone too. They will have no tools now. So we started the collection effort. The maintenance manager at Ravensworth Darren Meyer, took up the cause and donations came from Atom Tool Supplies and Ausmech Industries totalling $15000, and together with miners sorting out their home sheds, six pallets arrived into the welcoming arms and smiles of Danielle and helpers at the Cobargo Relief Centre. The centre has taken on the job of reception/distribution as the Narooma men’s shed is closed due to the pandemic. From a distance and from the heart, the kindness and concern of strangers has made a difference. The tools are already on their way to a wide group of affected people and their communities A massive SHOUT OUT to the Bulga mob and their wonderfully generous contacts. You have lifted spirits down south as we go through these, the most testing of times in all our lives. Bernie Perrett, Narooma Men’s Shed

16.01.2022 Narooma Mens Shed is closing due to COVID-19 The Shed will close for 4 weeks from close of business on Thursday 19th March 2020. This decision has been carefully considered by the Committee and is being taken to ensure the health of shed members is not compromised by attendance at the shed due to exposure to the COVID-19 virus.... We understand that this may be disruptive to member's lifestyles but your health is of paramount importance to the Committee. We will monitor developments in relation to the Corona Virus and will review the situation in 4 weeks and inform the membership of any decision made by the Committee.
