15.01.2022 A game that slipped away . Our Men’s PL squad came away with 4 points of the 6 on offer and will be a reflected on as a missed opportunity. . Our First grade squad started strongly really dominating the midfield and utilising space in the channels and it didn’t take long before we got the lead courtesy of Pavels composed finished in the box we went into the break with the lead and having had more of the chances. The second half became a more tightly contested game a...nd Mosman found a equaliser midway through the half when gifted with a penalty to make it 1-1. Through another push Dan Reiso got into a great ball to make it 2-1 and not long after that Mosman were reduced to 10 men allowing #beenies more time on the ball however the game took a different turn with a free kick awarded on the edge of the box Mosman brought the scores back level before taking the lead with less then 10 mins to go 3-2 before one last turn of the game with a minute to go we got a penalty and Charlie Smyth blasted home to secure a point. . Our ressies got back to their ruthless ways with dominating 6-0 performance. After plenty of chance Dan Mijovic got the opener via header and 2 mins later celebrated his second for a 2-0 lead. In the second half we continue the dominance and Tom Opie finished off a great ball in the box before @luke_reid3798 got our 4th followed by 2 rockets by Eric Talarico to finish off a sound performance and keep the pressure on the top. . Next week is the start of the second half of the season playing @harbordfc and we will be focusing on nothing less then 6 points! . 10.01.2022 W18/1’s bag all 3 points in display of dominance at Seaforth Oval Greeted by a windy, frosty Friday evening at Seaforth Oval, our W18/1 girls had one task in mind... No complacency against a team that has been one of our most difficult opponents over the years. With only 12 available for the match, the team called on the help of Lauren Muriti from the W15/1 side. The direction for the match was simple.. Stick to the game plan that has seen these girls greatly r...ewarded for their efforts already this season. 100% effort, 100% commitment, 100% of the time.. And of course, our girls did just that. First half intensity was high from the first play.. Seaforth closing out our Strikers efficiently and forcing the play through the midfield to find new ways to attack. When they got the chance, Seaforth pushed forward with speed and intensity but were neutralised with some effective scrambling defence. The Beenies midfield putting together some of the sharpest passing seen all year eventually releasing Gaby Journee about 15 minutes in and Gaby confidently placed the strike low and wide of the keepers reach to open the account. Some intense pressure up front shortly after saw Gaby rewarded with another chance and she hit another goal to gain a 2 goal advantage. The latter part of the first half saw our defence have to weather some strong Seaforth attacking raids however the Beenies defensive line turned up on every play and got us to half time with a handy 2-0 lead. Second half game plan was to neutralise the Seaforth attack in the midfield.. The girls executed the plan to a tee. In the rare occasions that Seaforth broke out of the middle, the defensive line turned the play back around swiftly. Lauren Muriti from our W15/1 team playing a big role in the second half not only stifling Seaforth’s midfield but also releasing our attack up front with some clever, confident and direct passing was awesome to watch! Rachel Robb on the receiving end of a sharp pass across the area took a sublime touch and followed up with a beautifully placed shot to get on the score sheet! The girls switched in to all out attack mode for the last 20 mins or so which saw Gaby Journee pick up another 3 second half goals including another superbly placed free kick to make the final score an impressive 6-0 win! Final Score NFC 6 Seaforth 0 Goal Scorers: Gaby Journee (5) Rachel Robb 1 As always, a massive thanks to our W18/1 Sponsors National Lifts & Electrical Services and Add Style Home Additions for your ongoing support.
