24.01.2022 Wishing Year 11 the very best of luck with their yearly exams this week.

23.01.2022 Narrabri High School Music News. Year 11 Music are currently completing an assessment task where students are required to compose a piece of music for their own instrument demonstrating the instruments technical capabilities. The students will be using Musescore, a free piece of software for notating musical pieces. As part of the preparation for this task the class enjoyed a Zoom call with former Narrabri High School student Matthew Nash, who is currently studying Music at ...the Brisbane Conservatorium of Music. Mathew regularly uses the Musescore software to complete university assignments, as well as composing and arranging for his own pleasure. Matthew took the students through the basic functions within the software as well as some shortcuts that will help with their task. He showed some examples of work he has completed as part of his course and answered questions around studying Music at university level. The Year 11 students enjoyed being able to catch up with their old colleague as well as gain valuable insights from someone with knowledge and expertise in this particular area.

19.01.2022 Tonight Alex and Jesse travel back to the 1970’s to talk us the story’s of two events that changed the way we live today. Longer than the Wright brothers’ first flight, wider than a boulevard, and with a tail height as tall as a six-story building, the 747 was a revolution in aviation technology and the passenger experience when it entered service on January 22, 1970. With the first flight from New York to London, Pan Am’s Clipper Young America ushered in the jet age’s second phase: the era of wide body aircraft. Apollo 13 was the seventh crewed mission in the Apollo space program and the third meant to land on the Moon. The craft was launched from Kennedy Space Center on April 11, 1970, but the lunar landing was aborted after an oxygen tank in the service module failed two days into the mission.

06.01.2022 Clontarf News. On Wednesday November 18th, a group of select players from the Northwest region of Clontarf Academies assembled to play against Farrer MAHS in a celebration of NAIDOC week. The group of Clontarf players traveled with their respective staff members from Narrabri, Moree, Inverell, Singleton, Quirindi and Oxley early on the morning of the game so we could meet and allow the boys to have a team run, as this was the first time they had played together as a team. Th...e vast majority of the team were boys in Year 12, including Narrabri's Jeff Harvey, however, we brought along 3 boys from Year 10, including Daniel McMillan, Gus Smith and Josh Briggs. After the team run, the boys had some lunch together, followed by some free time to walk around the shops. We then traveled out to Farrer to start preparing for kick-off. The spectators enjoyed a special pre-game ceremony which included a Welcome to Country talk from local Uncle Joe, a smoking ceremony and performance of "We are One" in language and in English. Although the result of the game was rather one-sided towards Farrer, who had the time to train and prepare together as a team, the Clontarf boys delivered an admirable effort and continued to play hard until the final whistle. Narrabri representatives played particularly well and were the talk of the game. Gus and Jeff both won awards presented by the other team and Daniel was arguably the best on ground in tackle and hit-up count. We look forward to continuing this tradition with Farrer and the other Clontarf Academies in future years and we are sure the boys will be even more excited next year.
