Council will contribute $500,000 with Civeo, a workforce accommodation provider operating in the Shire, contributing $2.1 million to co...mplete the project. The aging infrastructure within the Boggabri sewage treatment system requires this essential upgrade to improve operational efficiencies and implement effluent recycling options. The upgrades include; New inlet works at the STP An additional effluent pumping station Replacement of approximately 2 kilometres of sewerage conveyance pipes Three new Tertiary treatment ponds New Humus tank Repair and upgrade of civil, electrical, and mechanical equipment New amenities, control, and electrical building Testing and commissioning of infrastructure Stage One works will be contained within the boundaries of the sewage treatment plant, with little impact to residents. Stage Two works will include the implementation of effluent recycling opportunities for Boggabri. General Manager, Mr Stewart Todd said, Council has strongly supported and advocated for this project for many years and I am pleased to see the project underway. Completing these works is important to the longevity of the existing sewage treatment infrastructure and will provide operational efficiencies to benefit the Boggabri community well into the future.
