Validate that this is hard, and that technology is not a cure all. Keep gratitude in the forefront of your conversations. I am grateful we are safe and I am grateful that we have each other and How blessed are we to have each other to hug right now? Don’t forget that safe physical touch releases oxytocin, a powerful chemical to boost mood. Giving extra hugs, wrestling, brushing each other’s hair or sharing YouTube videos on the couch are all ways we can connect physically. 11.01.2022 Ok my peoples. I know we're getting stuck for ideas to engage our kids in meaningful activities while self isolating. I want to do my bit for our jarjums and ru...n a sort of 'online art class' where kids of all ages can find items around the house and yard to make aboriginal dot art. I know its naptime for our smaller kids but will be perfect for the older ones. Friday 27 March at 12pm NSW’s time I will go live on Facebook for approx 1 hr. 06.01.2022 Hi everyone, just wanted to send an update on the Youth Shack. We closed briefly at the beginning of the year (Anna had a baby) and we had the wonderful NDCAS express their interest in taking over the running of the Youth Shack...which is fantastic. We were then put on hold for quite a while because of COVID. NDCAS are still willing to re-open the Youth Shack and are ready to go but are waiting on approval from Council - as we may have a new venue to move in to. Fingers crossed we will re-open before next year We’ve definitely been missing everyone.
