25.01.2022 What an inspiring afternoon spent in the extensive garden of Zina and Nick Rendina in Leeton today. Nick and Zina were so generous of their time, knowledge and cuttings that we walked away all the richer for our visit. Nick and Zina are orchid gurus and they gave an informative demonstration about dividing and repotting them. Their tips were to remove overcrowded clumps from the pot and trim about 5cm from the bottom of the root ball. Divide into smaller clumps making sure t...o leave about 2 old bulbs (where old flower stems have come from) in the clump to help feed the new flowers. Repot into a mixture of 2 parts moistened bark to 1 part potting mix. To this, add 1 cup blood & bone, 2 cups dynamic lifter, some shell grit and a sprinkling of All Purpose Osmocote. Water well. Zina demonstrated ways of propagating plants such as petunias and foxgloves and we'll all be hopeful of having the same success rate as Zina!

24.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there! Here's some more garden inspiration for your special day!

24.01.2022 Sharing some autumn garden colour. As Michael McCoy writes in the May issue of the Gardening Australia magazine 'Aren't we lucky. What a time in history to have a bit of land and a few plants to nurture that nurture us in return. What a time to have a consuming passion that plays out within the boundaries of our own property.' And as Jenny Baldwin, Editor of the Gardening Australia magazine has the final word 'gardening isn't cancelled.'

23.01.2022 Great day spent at Tumbarumba Spring Garden Festival yesterday. It was lovely to run into some Narrandera Garden Club members and friends too! Here's just a few photos to share with you...

23.01.2022 A little more garden inspiration in time for the weekend. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before our Garden Club can meet together as a group and we can visit some beautiful gardens in person!

18.01.2022 Thought I'd share some photos a beautiful friend sent me today of her garden in Moss Vale. After plentiful rain, her trees are absolutely laden with stunning Spring bloom.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to reasons relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Narrandera Town and Country Open Garden Day, to be held on Sunday 25th October 2020, has been cancelled. Stay tuned for further updates and events. In the meantime, our next meeting will be held on Saturday 25th July at 11am at The Shady Gum Nursery with Annie as our Guest Speaker. Dycinta's coffee van will be there. Please bring your own morning tea if desired (no share plates permitted), a folding chair, b...looms for display and your garden-related questions and queries. 12.01.2022 Are there any Garden Club members who are interested in this old door for their garden or garden shed? Let me know!

12.01.2022 Pity we didn't get to visit Braymont recently but here's a sneak peek of what we missed!

11.01.2022 Long time Garden Club member Jennifer Hopwood is a Narrandera 'garden guru'. For decades Jennifer has propogated and nurtured quality plants for the annual plant stall at the Uniting Church Hall on the Narrandera Open Gardens Charity Day. The 'pics' from Jennifer's garden are 2 of Brugmansia (Angel's Trumpet) and California Fuschia.

10.01.2022 Thanks Lee Lo for sharing some photos from the Finley Open Gardens on Sunday - they look lovely!

09.01.2022 Anyone needing some more garden inspiration?

09.01.2022 Red Cow Farm - absolutely stunning!

07.01.2022 Narrandera’s annual Camellia Show due to be held again this August has been cancelled due to COVID 19. This would have been the 46th two day show of hundreds of quality blooms of this winter garden icon. Long time local and regional growers and those from further away bring their top blooms for display to what has become a prestigious showcase of the camellia’s brillant colour and varied form. The Narrandera District Garden Club has kept the Camellia Show on the town’s event calendar with valuable help from the Hume Camellia Society (Albury), Camellias Australia and Narrandera Rotarians. Also the Narrandera Ex-Servicemen’s Club provides great support by making the Auditorium and tables free of charge and assisting with the set up. The pics are Camellia Japonica Elegans and Japonica William Bull.

06.01.2022 This COVID pandemic has certainly seen the development of some creative solutions to help us adapt to the current situation, and Narrandera Garden Club is no exception. Yesterday, we split our meeting into two sessions to ensure we could abide by restrictions and allow us to still visit this great garden.. If there's one thing this garden of Heather and David's demonstrates, it's to find what works and stick to it. Repeat plantings of Teucrium, Liriopes, Pears, Prunus, Crepe Myrtles, Hellebores and Indian Hawthorns have been used throughout to great effect. All proceeds from our raffle and plant stall will be donated to Can Assist.

04.01.2022 Some more inspiration from SA, just to keep you all motivated during this period. Hope you are all keeping well. Thank goodness for gardening!

03.01.2022 Some more beauty from Red Cow Farm - an absolute 'must-see' garden
