09.01.2022 FRAUD TARGETING THE ELDERLY Members of a syndicate have been contacting the elderly via telephone and impersonate bank employees who inform the victim that thei...r bank account has been compromised and request cash payment in order to open a new account. Once the victim agrees to make payment members attend the victim's residence pretending to be a courier on behalf of the bank. The courier then receives the cash or bank cards from the victim before electronically transfering the funds to their own bank accounts and receiving payment once the transfer is complete.
