25.01.2022 Excellence in sustainable garden design Timandra Garden is closed to the public on a daily basis. But it has a permit as a Function Centre for Devonshire Teas for groups. We have a toilet available for patron use. If you want to consider a group booking, for Teas and/or a professional guided tour based on sustainable landscape design, then this can be arranged by appointment. It is a garden favoured by the touring Cruise Ship companies and has also been selected for the Open Gardens Victoria schedule during the Easter weekend, April 2020. 23.01.2022 Cruise Ship Visits David and I had 3 excellent cruise ship tours to Timandra Garden in January. Our visitors were a collection of garden lovers from different countries, who were interested in the sustainable aspects of a predominantly Australian native garden. Some of these visitors were the most interested that we have hosted in Timandra. For all this wonderful experience for David and me, and our guests, we made the sad decision to close our garden to the public after the... last cruise ship tour. We find that tourism here is misunderstood, having had many years of experience in the Clare Valley SA. To be told that the current trend is to bombard people daily with social media when research shows that this is now outdated (presumably this became highly aggravating to recipients!), shows how naive this region is with tourism. It is important to note that Timandra Garden had pre booked tours and teas with intercruises. We were selected because of the professionalism of our offering, that is, a brilliant website (now entirely different due to closure) and Ecotourism and ATAP Quality Tourism accreditation, which will now cease. Timandra Garden stood apart, as does Timandra Design & Landscaping. Timandra, the garden, is now closed. It may reopen for charity functions in the future. 10.01.2022 Timandra has been accepted by Open Gardens Victoria. It will be open next April 11th and 12th (Easter Weekend) 2020. To be used as a fundraiser for the South West Regional Cancer Centre and the local Narrawong Hall. Further details will be available closer to time. It is my quest for Timandra Garden to be used as a place of learning; to highlight the need for an increased sustainability factor in all of our gardens. This will be a factor during the open days.
