25.01.2022 STAGE 2 Kitchen update. Electrical and plumbing done and all encased behind the cement fibre walls. We replaced the old masonite boards because they were very thin where we had removed the tiles and needed a lot of work sanding and painting.... Thank you to United Way Glenelg grant that we were able to purchase a new gas stove and new fridge which were delivered during the week( other items on order) & thank you to Portland Betta Home Living for supplying & delivery. Now awaiting the Kitchen installation from Portland Home Improvements which will begin any day hopefully. Again we wish to thank Jenny’s fabulous husband Graeme for his continued support, demolition and carpentry skills......he’s a legend!

17.01.2022 STAGE 3 Nearly there! We are excited to say.......Narrawong Mechanics Institute Hall community kitchen is making progress.... We don’t just sit, talk & drink coffee at our Hall committee meetings, (although prior to isolation the lovely Fiona has occasionally brought homemade cakes to share , we all look forward to that again when restrictions are lifted & we can have a meeting! ) Our committee members pull together & do the work to get the kitchen space prepared, staying the 1.5m from each other of course! Graeme, Pity & Chivo have been pulling a million staples out of the floor - thanks guys Stay tuned for more pics

13.01.2022 2020 Narrawong Community Christmas Party by the Hall A big thank you to the Narrawong Rural Fire Brigade CFA for giving Santa a lift to the Hall... thanks Santa & Captain Pete. Thank you to Narrawong Post Office for making sure Santa got his lolly delivery on time.... Lovely to see the happy faces awaiting for Santa to arrive.

07.01.2022 Tonight at 5:40pm, Narrawong CFA brigade will be sounding their fire alarm for four cycles in memory of the four fallen Victoria Police Officers who tragically... lost their lives last week. We do ask that you please help us make your friends and family aware of this event and not to be alarmed when you hear the siren.

03.01.2022 STAGE 4 Kitchen upgrade - Just waiting for the splash back to go on & we will plan an opening so we can show off our beautiful new community kitchen to you all. ... We’re all very excited!

02.01.2022 STAGE 1 It’s very exiting for everyone in our community to see the kitchen upgrade moving forward. As much as isolation is annoying it’s been a perfect time for us to get the ball rolling on our renovation without interrupting any of the usual hall hire groups. Thank you to the people that have purchased our old cupboards, stove, fridge etc- your contrition also helps towards our new commercial kitchen.... And a huge thank you to Jenny & Graeme for the help in gutting the kitchen. See more
