16.01.2022 Big thanks to the team at Narrogin Caltex for the donation of 20L of truck wash, the NVFRS are thankful for your help and support of the community. PS they make a killer coffee and hot chocolate

16.01.2022 PUBLIC ANNOUCMENT Please if you intended to have a prescribed burn any bigger than a normal sized backyard. Or on a property with no means of water. MAKE SURE you have a fire unit or some sort of portable water supply on stand-by.... Luckily this time it was manageable. Fire season is not that far away, and we as a community need to be better prepared than this. PREPARE ACT SURVIVE Take the time and do the 5min fire chat.

16.01.2022 Please be aware that Facebook has today shut down Australian news pages. This has unfortunately included the DFES Page. You will NOT get any warnings from the DFES Facebook page. You need to visit and keep up to date through the www.emergencywa.gov.au website.

15.01.2022 Please Do not put water on an oil/fat fire.

15.01.2022 Father and son legacy Post from the Narrogin Observer LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON ... For veteran firefighter David Hayes, serving his regional community in times of disaster has been a part of his life for half a century. Mr Hayes is based at the Narrogin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service where he has been the captain for the past 39 years the longest-serving volunteer fire captain in WA. For me, the years don’t mean much at all, really, Mr Hayes said. I enjoy what I’m doing and I’m working with some great people. Come July 1, son Cameron Hayes will take over as captain. Dave has a lot of years’ experience and I’ve got a lot to learn, he said. He’s always been a leader, always looked at new options and new ways of training.
