18.01.2022 Year 11 Food Tech students worked brilliantly today summarising their first 4 weeks of content using an AVID strategy called a one pager. Students compile key ideas, words and definitions with visuals to create an artistic representation of what they’ve been learning! It is also a wonderful study strategy. Great work girls!

07.01.2022 With our Year 12’s missing out on many of their usual school activities this year - they certainly weren’t going to miss out on Muck Up week!!!! Monday began with rearranging some school furniture, dressing up as a teacher and then an auction. Teachers had to buy back some of their prized possessions that had been collected over the previous week. The money raised went towards their fundraising efforts. Well done to all teachers for displaying a great sense of :) humour and $$$ generosity.

03.01.2022 Dear Parents/Carers and 2020 HSC Student body, I would like to provide you information about the plans our school is putting in place to ensure this year’s HSC exams run as smoothly as possible for all students. The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and the department have released guidelines for schools to conduct a COVID-19 safe HSC examination and put plans in place to minimise the chance of disruption.... I want to congratulate all our students, staff and their families for their incredible fortitude in what has been a challenging year for us all. We know our students have worked hard for the HSC and it is important that our exams proceed as planned. The most important priorities for our students is that they keep studying, stay healthy and turn up for their exams on time. If your child has a pre-existing condition that presents similarly to flu-like symptoms, speak to your doctor/GP now and contact the school. If on the day of the exam your child feels unwell with flu-like symptoms, they should stay home and get tested. It is important you visit the doctor and get a doctors certificate and be tested for COVID-19 as a precaution. On the morning of each exam your child will be asked if they are unwell with flu-like symptoms. If your child says ‘yes’, they will not be able to sit the exam and will be asked to leave and seek medical attention. If you know your child is unwell it is better to keep them home. We want all our students to sit their exams but sometimes events happen that are beyond our control. If your child is unwell and misses their exam please contact the school. Students who are unwell will be eligible for illness and misadventure and we will help you through this process. We have also secured additional exam venues in the unlikely event that our school needs to close on the day of an exam. If there are any changes to exam details we will communicate with HSC students through their student email, text message and Narromine High School Facebook page. This will be the only source of communication for these types of notifications. If in doubt, please call the school on 68891499. Yours sincerely Phil Rufus Principal, NHS 24/09/2020
