14.01.2022 So we heard some good news this week. We recently started receiving enquires through the deaf interpreter service and were wondering why. Well, then we met Theresa and Marco and their Auslan interpreter who explained. The NDIS is now funding interpreter services for ALL essential meetings - not just medical. It seems so obvious, that everyone should have access to legal, financial and other professional services but not so, until now. ... With an Auslan interpreter by my side, I felt a little like I was giving a press conference because, of course, that’s the only time we see Auslan interpreters. Until now, that is. I now realise that every day our Auslan interpreters are supporting ordinary Australians navigate a world and access services which were, until now, shut off to them. Thank you Theresa and Marco for allowing us to share this story.

13.01.2022 On a day America was unable to get an election result, Holly managed to get admitted to the bar! So does Holly get my vote? Yes she does. Rarely have I seen such care and compassion in such a young person. Not only is this such a valued trait in our practice but Holly has also demonstrated a great aptitude in the law. After 7 years of study and nearly 2 1/2 years working at NashClavey-Mandurah, she has reached her goal of being entitled to practice law in Western Australia.... Having a hand in bringing a young lawyer online is such a privilege and I cannot help but feel slightly maternal in the process. I also feel a little envious of the exuberance and enthusiasm of the young. They are so hungry! Does that make them good lawyers? Too right, it does. Congratulations Holly! Now the work begins. Work hard but enjoy your work/life balance.

02.01.2022 Its Dawes-Vegas! Once again the Christmas lights are up at Cathy’s house at 196 Estuary Road, Dawesville and this provided the backdrop for this year’s Christmas get together. And after a frenetic week in the office, it was a welcome opportunity to relax and catch up with one another. Notably, the 5 current members of staff who were there had, between them, 55 years of service at NashClavey-Mandurah. Past members of staff, Ann and Liz were also there. It’s a tribute to the ...strength of the team that we all still look forward spending time with one another outside of work too. The ever popular and talented Deborah Zibah sang for us and a larger group of revelers during the evening. From all of us at NashClavey-Mandurah, to all past and future clients, a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
