22.01.2022 This Free-Trade deal has been coming since mid-Brexit. It should restore old relations and provide a huge boost to Aussie exporters now that the EU Trade Restrictions have been lifted from the UK.

21.01.2022 Healthkick Friday says that if you are experiencing difficulty with time management or are an out of control social media buff, then this may be a great opportunity to reset. Productivity, quality of life and mental health could improve. After all, if you remove the 'real news' from Fb, all you are left with are pictures of baked bean sandwiches and political propaganda based on 'fake news'. Ok there are the occasional human interest stories or genuine social contact posts.

15.01.2022 With 2020 drawing to an end and the Festive Season upon us I was expecting to write a message of hope for the New Year. Unfortunately with the Northern Beaches COVID 19 outbreak it seems at this stage that NSW is heading into a New Year of uncertainty and potentially one of hard lockdowns. These could prove difficult times for retail, accommodation and hospitality businesses which were relying on all of that promised domestic travel spend to continue to make up for the last y...ear and the devastation of our 2019 holiday season after the November bush fires. We might now be spending a quieter holiday season at home! May we all pray that we escape this possibility and get back onto a recovery path as quickly as possible. I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts in adapting to the tough trading conditions over the past 14 months. For those who have managed to pivot their business and to those who have adapted and survived then congratulations are in order. Some have performed a lot better than others, some have grown their business and others may still be struggling. So I encourage you all to revisit your mode of operation and your business plans over the next month in order to ensure you at least survive; and better still, thrive. The potential for a ‘Second Wave’ in NSW, Australia’s economic powerhouse does not auger well for the State or Federal economy. Markets are already hesitating and we could see an early end to the Santa Rally; although there are no signs of a major correction in the short-term. If you are concerned about the future and are looking for some guidance on the clarification of your business and investment goals then our software tool can be used to assist you. Remember always that when setting your business and investment goals you should always start with your personal goals, because your income and wealth creation are a means to an end - to satisfy your personal goals. We can assist you to get to get the life / work balance into perspective. http://www.nashsolutions.com.au/financial_plan/astute_wheel Nash Solutions will be closing for the Festive Break as usual, in order to recharge our batteries. 11.01.2022 The economic outlook is looking rosy for short term, future Covid mutations and major outbreaks excepted. The world is settling into the hope that the Covid vaccines will stem the spread and/or severity of all strains of the virus. The RBA has stated that the coronarecession has not been as bad as expected for three reasons. Firstly, our greater success in containing the virus, secondly, the governments’ fiscal policy (budgetary) support has been bigger than expected and th...irdly, Australians have adapted and innovated. There is expectation that the current interim profits reporting season iwill be positive with many of the mum and dad blue chip companies doing far better than their Covid forecasts with a likelihood of increasing their interim dividends. This will in turn boost spending as retirees finally see an improvement in their incomes. This is on top of the strengthening US economy and decline in the VIX, the investor 'fear index' which augers well for a period of consolidation and growth.

11.01.2022 AGL to continue to lead the way with dispatch able power by replacing the Liddell coal fired power station with solar and hydro. his should ensure continuing supply to NSW.

10.01.2022 Healthkick Friday looks at manual and sedentary jobs for their impact on physical health. The message is simple, whatever your job mobility and movement is important, remain active.

08.01.2022 Jobs rise, interest rates subdued, so economic growth predictions have been revised up. Wage inflation may appear earlier than previously predicted?

05.01.2022 Zuckerberg's decision to ban news feeds from reputable sources will cause a short term problem for our tips and hints posts that have been flowing for 20 years now. But we will get around it, one way or another. It is interesting that he would chose to do this as a sceptic would say that his decision may have in part been influenced by a desire to prevent the posting of items negative to Fb. After all, Fb has shown a willingness to ignore its corporate social and governance r...esponsibilities. As investment fund managers look more and more into the ESG policies of companies in their investment sustainability analysis it is hoped that they take heed and judge Fb accordingly. A few $Billion off Zuckerberg's personal wealth may be the only tangible sanction this pariah will acknowledge. And then there are various 'anti trust' laws around the world dealing with monopolies and abuse of power. The international tax evasion issues may well end up being the least of Zuckerberg's problems.

04.01.2022 Business and social planning is required across the board over the coming decades. Infrastructure, demographics, aged care and regional planning are all essential.
