11.01.2022 WITHIN Im super excited to share this artwork I created for @softstir magazine, featured in their ‘home’ issue When I moved to Australia with my parents from Ukraine, we used our Russian rugs to roll up our fragile objects as they were packed into a container on a ship heading to Australia. At the same time we flew more than 15,000 kilometers to our new home in Sydney, where we had never been before and where everyone spoke a language I knew only a couple of words of... I still find so much comfort and beauty in these rugs and wanted to reinterpret the colours and floral motifs featured in them as a piece to celebrate this journey between my old and new home
