Fix any leaking garden taps or pipes and repair any damaged or leaking roofing. Keeping your home leak free helps to stop termites from being attracted to your home.

Especially overgrown trees that come into contact with the eaves. This can give the termites a direct path into your home!

Remove old hardwood sleepers used for garden beds or retaining wall, and use treated pine, concrete or blocks instead. Remove any rotten timber left lying around, especially under the house and any stored firewood. Avoid using wood chip in the gardens.

Keep timber and wood piles away from the sides of the house and especially from under the house, if your home is raised on stumps. Make sure that it is well ventilated and dry under the house also!
