24.01.2022 This is a wonderful day, I have never seen this one before. Maya Angelou ... Every new day is such a gift to be grateful for. We have the opportunity to start over, be more mindfully present and to see things in a new light. We can choose gratitude and take positive actions towards how we want to feel every single day. It's not always easy, I know that for certain, but small shifts in our perspective can add up and lead to big changes in our lives if we are open to it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

24.01.2022 Taking action can feel overwhelming. When we think of the future and where we want to be, especially when working towards an important goal or dream, we can sometimes have an all or nothing approach. It can feel so big and out of reach we can either procrastinate by putting it on the back burner or focus so intently on it we lose sight of everything else, including the present. What helps me personally, and my coaching clients when we are working together, is breaking it do...wn into really simple steps. Taking one day, one moment, one step at a time can help you move forward in an achievable, steady way. Whether that’s making a start or continuing to work towards a personal goal, you’re more likely to have better results if you methodically take action one step at a time, rather than trying to take on too much at once. Wherever you are in your journey, whenever you feel a sense of overwhelm taking over, ask yourself, What's my next step? Then breathe, and let the answer come to you. Once you know what it is, just focus on taking that one next step. Even if it seems like something small or insignificant, do it anyway. There’s no right or wrong way to do something and you will be moving in the right direction regardless of the perceivable size of the step. When we stay connected to both our bigger life dreams or goals AND our present moment experience, we can feel more grounded and happy along the way to achieving what we want. Tell me in the comments, what’s your next step? However small it may seem. #thenextstep #journalprompt

23.01.2022 Remembering to practice mindfulness may come easy to some but not to others! Last week I encouraged you to pop a recurring reminder in your phone to alert you when it’s time to meditate. Take this as another friendly reminder in case you need it. ... Mindfulness isn’t difficult, we just need to remember to do it. Sharon Salzberg #sharonsalzberg #mindfulnessquotes

20.01.2022 A couple weeks ago I shared a sleep related mindset tip about shifting your focus from the result of sleeping to the intention of resting. Now I have another tip to help you sleep. It’s about what you do when you can’t get to sleep. I used to check the clock multiple times a night when I struggled to get to sleep and guess what? It didn’t help at all. It actually used to cause me to get more and more frustrated that I still wasn’t asleep. I wonder if you do the same thing if... you can’t get to sleep? My tip for you is to stop checking the time during the night after you’ve gone to bed. If you can, avoid checking your phone and if you have an alarm clock with the time lit up, turn it to face away from you. It can be tempting to keep looking at what time it is, but the more you get out of the habit, the easier it’ll be. It can help you reduce your stress around bedtime and stop that accumulation of frustration if you’re anything like I was! It’s made such a difference to me and I hope it does for you too. Give it a go and see if you can break the habit of checking the time at night. #sleeptip

19.01.2022 In case you’re curious, I thought I’d share some things about Life Coaching. So, what is it? ... Life Coaching is a great way to create meaningful change in your life, by figuring out what’s important to you and learning how to prioritise it. It’s a talk based approach where the coach guides you from where you are, to where you want to be. It helps you to set focused, purposeful goals and move towards achieving them. It’s a journey of self discovery as you move from session to session. You learn so much about yourself, what is best for you and you are empowered to find your own answers as the coaching experience unfolds. As a Life Coach, it is very rewarding to witness my clients transforming their lives and achieving goals that they never thought possible. #lifecoaching #lifecoach See more

19.01.2022 Take this time to regroup We all know our world has collectively shifted and changed in many ways recently. For some there’s been an increased amount of work, stress and energy going into making some rapid changes for alternate working environments, managing changes in daily routines and figuring out how to best serve, protect and help employees, clients, customers, families and vulnerable citizens worldwide. For others there has been a slowing down of work and daily life ...commitments with changes in circumstances. Either way, it may have taken time, more mental and physical energy to make significant adjustments to this new way of life, and also may even still be requiring those things. If you’re fairly new to spending more time at home, now might be a good opportunity to regroup, reset and put into practise some helpful/healthy habits. If you can also look at how you can find some rest and relaxation at this time too it will be so beneficial for you. If you’re used to spending most of your time at home anyway due to your current circumstances such as chronic illness you might still use this time to reflect on how you can make sure you’re resting well and put into place some new measures to help yourself if not. The key take away here is - whether you're well or unwell, have more or less time to yourself - make sure you factor in rest. Figure out how to rest in whatever way feels good to you and works for your situation. For me, it’s meditation, for you it might be something else. Allow this to be a time for you to take the pressure of yourself, to regroup, to find ways to relax as best as you can and encourage others in your life to do the same. How will you rest more, reduce your stress and find ways to relax? Feel free to share your ideas below. #regroup See more

19.01.2022 I’m muting myself this week in solidarity with Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). I’m taking time to be present, to listen deeply, and to learn sincerely. I see you. I hear you. You matter. I’m following and learning from these incredible BIPOC creators and encouraging you to follow them too so that their voices are amplified: @alex_elle... @blackandembodied @desireeadaway @dora_kamau @dr.marielbuque @feministajones @jaree_lcswc @jessicawilson.msrd @kimberlecrenshaw @lalahdelia @laylafsaad @maryamhasnaa @moemotivate @nedratawwab @ohhappydani @octaviaraheem @rachel.cargle @sharynaholmes Thank you all for your work and showing up in the world in the way you do. Feel free to share more in the comments, my learning is just beginning. Black lives matter. I’m not using the Black Lives Matter hashtag as its misuse is taking up valuable space in the feed for people sharing timely and useful information to assist the cause. 18.01.2022 Hi! If you don't know me already, I'm Natalie Bowers. As a Life Coach and Meditation Teacher, I help stressed people to slow down and improve their sense of well-being. My clients learn how to calm their busy minds and pursue their goals with confidence, mindfulness, and fulfilment. I absolutely love what I do and the people I get to work with. Get in touch for more information by sending me a message or emailing me at [email protected].

18.01.2022 I decided to become a Life Coach and later a Meditation Teacher due to a strong intuitive calling I felt. I didn’t know exactly where it would lead but I trusted my gut and I’m so glad I did. When I first started coaching and teaching it just clicked into place and felt right. Having deep and meaningful conversations with clients, guiding them through life changing inner work and helping them see what an incredible person they are, makes my job deeply rewarding. ... It makes me feel alive. It fills me with such a sense of purpose. That’s why it can be challenging to let it go for periods of time when I need a break to prioritise my own health. I can’t be supporting my clients to take care of themselves on a deep level if I’m not doing the same for myself. I’ve realised for me, to balance my own health with chronic illness, I need to take some time off every so often. It can be challenging as I don’t like making people wait for me. At the same time, it means trusting in Divine timing and knowing it will mean I can come back as a better coach and a better teacher. Lately I’ve been mostly having a break and only doing some coaching and teaching here and there via word of mouth. I feel so privileged to have worked with some incredible people. I am so looking forward to getting back into it, whenever that may be and whenever the timing is right. For now, I’m doing what I can when I can and being ok with that. #lifecoach #meditationteacher See more

18.01.2022 We often associate spring time as the season in which plants flower and come into full bloom, but I love how for some, winter is their time to shine. The pink is so vibrant on this Camellia flower in the garden at the moment! Taking some time to connect with nature (whether in person or even looking at pictures if you’re stuck inside) is so important for our well-being and can give us a much needed boost. Noticing through all the senses can enhance the effects even more. ... #winterflower #connectwithnature

15.01.2022 How do you want to feel? You have the power to feel the way you want to feel. It takes time, dedication and a whole lot of self-compassion, but moving towards a place where you feel better is possible. Making space for your current emotions to be felt and acknowledged is key. You can then actively cultivate the feelings that you want, those that light you up from the inside out, by taking meaningful action on a daily basis. Sometimes we don’t stop to think about how we are feeling day to day and what we actually want to be feeling instead. It might feel weird at first to start reflecting on these types of questions but once you start, you can begin an incredible journey of transformation. Who knows where it will lead! ...... #startsmall #personalgrowth

15.01.2022 Change happens slowly, over time with committed effort. When you decide to work on transforming and growing as a person it’s all the stuff that happens internally that makes the biggest difference in your external life. The action you take off social media, off line, the inner resources you build up, the changes that happen in your mind and heart that can’t be seen. It’s the self development work you do in the quiet moments that creates the momentum when you do the outer wo...rk in the rest of your life. I see this with my coaching clients. Starting with small steps in their inner world and then creating meaningful changes in their outer world. So remember change starts small, like planting a seed in your heart and mind, and it grows from there. It can’t always be seen, measured or appreciated by someone else, but you feel and know it’s happening which is an important awareness to have. Are you going through personal growth and changes lately? I know I always am. #change

14.01.2022 I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars. I started listening to the teaching of my soul. - Rumi

14.01.2022 If you are new to meditation, have lapsed with your practice recently or maybe you have always struggled to maintain a regular meditation habit, I have a little tip for you. It might seem really simple, obvious and common sense but have you tried putting a recurring daily reminder or alarm in your phone to remind you to actually meditate? Set the reminder for when it will best suit you and see if it helps keep you accountable. When beginning a new meditation habit or trying... to maintain an existing practice it can be a challenge to actually keep meditating day in, day out. Even though we know it’s good for us, we can lose motivation, get bored or get busy with our day and forget. Despite our best intentions it can be easy and understandable for us to get to the end of the day and just not get around to it. I encourage you to pop a recurring reminder in your phone to alert you when it’s time to meditate and try sticking to it. It might be a simple tip but try it out and see how you go. It could be just the thing you need right now to keep you meditating. #meditationtips #meditateeveryday

13.01.2022 Here’s a really brief mindfulness exercise you can do next time you are about to drink your next beverage. Whether it’s a cup of tea, mug of coffee, glass of water or juice, it doesn’t matter, just whatever you are drinking next. First pause a moment and notice what it looks like, ... notice the colour of the liquid, any steam you can see coming off the top if it’s hot, notice the shape and colour of the cup/mug/glass, observe how it feels in your hand/s, for example the temperature and texture of the outside, next smell the aroma if there is one, and finally take a slow sip and really taste the flavour in your mouth, notice what it’s like to drink in this mindful way. Savour the experience of drinking your beverage with your full attention and appreciation, even for a brief time, before moving on with your day. Let me know if you’re going to try this or if you’ve tried this before and will do it again. #mindfulnesspractice #mindfulmoment

11.01.2022 Breathe..... Our respiratory system is so incredible and allows most of us to breathe naturally without having to think about or control it at all. When we’re relaxed our body breathes efficiently and easily. When we are stressed or anxious however, we tend to hold and constrict our breath. Our chest feels tight and we breathe faster and more shallow in the upper chest. The next time you do find yourself feeling stressed or anxious - tune into your breath. What’s happening for you in those moments? Can you allow your chest to soften? Maybe you can let your body breathe a little deeper down into your belly? Your body knows how to breathe. Allow it the space to open and relax into your breath so you can gain the most from it. #breathe

11.01.2022 I shared on my Instagram stories yesterday some things about gratitude, asking what are the little things and little moments you are grateful for. Sometimes it can be simple moments or things in your day that can be great to savour. Right now I’m grateful for some time in the sunshine, seeing the blue sky, the green trees, feeling the gentle breeze on my skin and in my hair, the warmth of the sun, hearing the sound of the birds chirping. A short, gentle, mindful walk before ...I need to rest. What are you grateful for today? It can be just one thing or many. #practisegratitude #gratefuleveryday

11.01.2022 It’s almost been a full month in this new season of Spring, or Autumn depending on where you live in the world. Spring is commonly a time for renewal and Autumn can be a time for letting go. Whatever the season is for you, I invite you to take a moment to reflect and check in with yourself. How can you renew your commitment to taking care of yourself? ... How can you use this season to recommit to prioritising time for rest? There is much wisdom in the cycle of each season, so much so that it can assist in the process of change and growth in our lives. What would it look like to embrace the meaning of renewal or letting go in your life right now? #renewal #lettinggo

10.01.2022 Mindfulness is seeing things as they are, without any judgement. It’s being fully present and engaged with what we’re doing. It’s experiencing each moment with awareness, curiosity and openness. ... It’s being willing to be with ourselves and be in our lives while it’s happening in the here and now. : @canva #mindfulness See more

10.01.2022 What is the lesson here? When we go through tough times, often these are the times that teach us the greatest lessons and provide us with a new opportunity for growth. Whatever you might be finding challenging at the moment, how can you find the lesson in it? What is this trying to teach right now? Is there a new nugget of wisdom for you to uncover?

09.01.2022 It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day routine of life without thinking about the bigger picture. If you take a moment today to stop and ask yourself, What do I really want my life to look like?, what comes up for you as the answer?...

08.01.2022 Here’s a sleep related mindset tip you might like to try. When you’re in bed and it’s time for sleep, firstly, become aware of what your thoughts are. What are you focusing on at bedtime with your sleep? My idea for you (that has been helpful for me and others) is rather than focusing on the result of sleeping, see if it helps to focus on the intention of resting. Just resting. ... We can be so hard on ourselves with sleep, especially if we’re struggling in some way with our sleep patterns. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to get to sleep, and if we wake up during the night, we can try to force ourselves to get back to sleep as quickly as possible. We see sleep as the goal and if we’re not asleep we are somehow failing at achieving something. Bringing in the intention of resting can be a more gentle and kind way to be in bed. It allows us to take some of the expectation and pressure off. Less striving and more ease. You might like to mentally say to yourself something like - it’s ok for me to just rest right now. See how you go. #sleeptip

06.01.2022 Is it Autumn or Spring where you are in the world? It’s Autumn here in Australia and as we move through the last week of Autumn, I invite you to reflect with me. ... What can you let go of that’s no longer serving you? What can you release over the next few days that would help you feel lighter? How can you appreciate the beauty of this moment in time? Letting the seasons reflect or inspire change in our lives can be really helpful. Take a moment to ponder these questions and see what comes up for you. #australianautumn #autumninaustralia See more

06.01.2022 Taking a moment to connect with the beauty of nature. The vibrant colour and delicate shape of this flower in the garden. The tiny droplets of drizzle on its petals. ... The shiny green leaves and foliage. The earthy tones of the soil. Just beautiful #connectwithnature #naturebeauty

06.01.2022 Pause for a moment and ask yourself this question. What changes do I need to make? Have a think about where you are in your life and how you are travelling. There are probably things that are working well and maybe some areas that need some adjustments. When you ask yourself What changes do I need to make?, what are the first things that come to mind? ... Often we know intuitively the answers we need, if we get quiet and trust in ourselves to know. If it the answers don’t come as easily, maybe some extra support from writing in a journal, having a chat with a friend or hiring a coach might be helpful. Sometimes these changes are possible to implement straight away and others take time with extra support to guide you through the process. Even just figuring out what changes you need and want to make can be a process. I’d love to know if you’re willing to share, what changes do you need to make? Even if it’s one small change you’d like to implement. You can follow along here on Facebook: @nataliebowers and also over on Instagram: @_natalie_bowers #journalprompt

05.01.2022 For those of you who don’t know me well, at the beginning of 2018 I started an allergy elimination diet process (with the support of a good Dietitian and Allergist). This was to try and figure out if I could reduce my severe gut pain and other symptoms that I was experiencing as part of my other chronic health conditions (I have ME/CFS, POTS, and more). I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I started the diet to be honest! It’s taken a lot longer with much more p...ain, trial and error than anticipated. I'm glad I didn't know how challenging it would be, as I might not have started it in the first place! Even though I’m still going through the process of figuring things out, I’m also taking a moment to acknowledge how far I’ve come in the last 2 years, plus how my gut symptoms have improved. It’s definitely been worth it overall. If you’re on a similar path, stick with it and know you’re doing really well. That’s all we can do in health and life, is take one step at a time, and for me it’s also taking one category of symptoms at a time to work on for my overall health. Hoping each thing will unlock a little more energy, reduce more pain, lessen more symptoms. Sometimes things work and help, and other times they don’t. This feels like a small win for now so I’m celebrating. I feel I have more knowledge and an extra piece of the puzzle that is my chronic health journey. It makes me reflect about how sometimes it takes a blind leap of faith to start, try or pursue something and then we figure the rest out along the way. What’s a goal or journey you’ve undertaken without fully knowing what was involved before you started? It could be big or small or health related or not. This is just one of my health ones. #eliminationdiet

05.01.2022 Happy World Meditation Day! Meditation has been so invaluable for me over the years. It’s been helpful in more ways that I can express. 03.01.2022 Something to ponder Meditation is not to escape from society, but to come back to ourselves and see what is going on. Once there is seeing, there must be acting. With mindfulness we know what to do and what not to do to help. - Thich Nhat Hanh #thichnhathanh #wisdomquotes

02.01.2022 If you’re new to journalling or self reflection and wanted to get started, grab a pen and paper. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Just start. Use this time for good, and ask yourself this question. How can I be kinder today? It might be different each day. It could be doing something generous or thoughtful or maybe you’ll be more considerate in the decisions you make. ... Kindness matters. It’s in all the small things, in the daily actions we take and decisions we make. How will you be kinder today and in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead? 01.01.2022 Meditation can be a great way to calm your mind, relieve stress and relax your body. It can also take you deeper into yourself on a fundamental level of existence. You can definitely keep it as a stress management practice or you can choose to develop your practice further. ... You can learn to access deeper inner states of being that are innately present and available within you. Stillness. Wholeness. Connection. Peace. Love. Joy. It might not always be possible to tap into that inner space but the more you practise, the more likely you’ll have access to it.
