25.01.2022 Morning Tea is served including a private company Barista to keep up with the huge coffee orders!

25.01.2022 As the pandemic continues around the world, the threat of a COVID-19 outbreak in Western Australia is something that we need to be prepared for. Even if it's un...likely, it's vital that we have the protections in place that we need for the worst case scenario. So, in line with health advice, from 5 December, particular WA venues and businesses will be required to maintain mandatory contact registers to support COVID-19 contact tracing. These records will ONLY be used for the purpose of contact tracing, should it be required, and will only be kept for 28 days. Businesses or venues required to keep a contact register include: Food and licenced venues (restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, taverns, nightclubs) Gyms, indoor sporting centres and pools Places of worship and funeral parlours Beauty and personal care services including hairdressers and barbers Galleries and museums Cinemas, theatres and other entertainment venues Auction houses and real estate inspections Community facilities, libraries and halls Zoos and amusement parks Function centres Accommodation facilities that already have check-in arrangements in place (i.e. hostels, hotels, large camp grounds) The details required for the contact register will include the date, arrival time, names and telephone numbers. Any person aged 16 years and over who attends a business, place or premises, listed above, including patrons, staff, volunteers and contractors will be required to register their contact details. Records are not required to be collected for people collecting takeaway or children under 16 years. To help make checking in to venues as easy as possible and reduce the burden on businesses, we've released a free app, SafeWA. SafeWA is a digital COVID-19 contact register system, which uses unique QR codes for venues that patrons can scan to register their attendance. You can get the app now on Android or iPhone at https://safewa.health.wa.gov.au The app is a free, easy, contactless solution, but it is not mandatory. Alternative formats for contact registers are available, including other electronic tools or a paper-based system, depending on what is suitable for the business, venue or individual. This step to reintroduce contact registers was considered in consultation with industry and business to establish a long term strategy to keep our State safe, given the ongoing impact of the virus internationally. More information on contact registers and the SafeWA app can be found at www.wa.gov.au/safewa We've done so well as a State - and we've achieved so much by following the advice and working together. Contact registers might not always be convenient, but we know that in the event of an outbreak they would make a huge difference. Together, by following these guidelines staying vigilant, we can keep WA safe and strong.

24.01.2022 Weve been through this a few times now during this pandemic. Some people want our hard border arrangements to be changed prematurely, against health advice. I ...just cant do that. My position has not changed, and Ill be clear again: the hard border will stay in place for as long as the health advice recommends it. The past two weeks have given us timely reminders about just how effective our hard border has been. Last week, the Federal Court ruled unambiguously that the hard border is the most effective measure to protect the health of Western Australians. And this week, economic statistics released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed clearly that those States which put up hard borders to fight the pandemic also protected their economies from the worst of the damage. Amid extremely difficult circumstances, never seen before in our history, our economy is holding up well. Consumer confidence. Business confidence. Retail spending. Hospitality. Construction. By almost any measure, Western Australia is in an enviable position in the new COVID-world. Western Australians can go about their lives with a level of safety and confidence that is rare anywhere in the world. The strength of our economy is remarkable, and is supporting the rest of the country. Weve worked so hard to achieve this - and we must do everything we can to maintain it. A hotspot model of travel restrictions is simply not as effective as the hard border. It relies on factors outside of our control, and it significantly increases the risk of an outbreak. And for that reason, at this stage, the hard border must stand. But let me also make this clear: the hard border will not last forever. If it was safe to do so, wed remove it today. We all wish we could be reunited with our fellow Australians. Id love to see my mum and dad at Christmas, but Im not prepared to bring down the borders so that we can meet a deadline that could well be catastrophic. Until the health advice is clear, it would be reckless to place a timeframe on when that will occur. When the time is right, we will outline our plan to reopen WA with the rest of the country.

23.01.2022 It has been 16 days since Phase 3 came into effect here in WA and Western Australians have once again been outstanding. People have enjoyed the new freedoms, su...pported local businesses and continued to listen to health advice around physical distancing and good personal hygiene. Thanks to our relaxed restrictions, WA is already the most economically free and active State in Australia. And today I can announce that as of this Saturday, those restrictions will be easing even further. In line with expert health advice, Phase 4 will commence this Saturday 27 June. It will allow even more activities to recommence in WA, and continue to make our State the envy of the nation, and the world. But before I outline those changes, its important to acknowledge that our hard border has been in place unashamedly to protect the health and well-being of Western Australians. It has allowed us to confidently ease restrictions more than any other State and open up our local economy. Having to reimpose restrictions in WA would be absolutely catastrophic. I wont undo the good work of all Western Australians and rush to open the border against our health advice. As part of Phase 4, from Saturday, the follow changes will occur: All existing gathering limits and the 100/300 rule will be removed. Gathering limits will only be determined by WAs reduced 2sqm capacity rule; The 2sqm rule will include staff only at venues that hold more than 500 patrons; Removal of seated service requirements at food businesses and licensed premises, meaning Western Australians can once again enjoy a beer while standing at a pub or bar; No requirement to maintain patron register at food businesses and licensed premises; All events will be permitted except for large scale, multi-stage music festivals; Unseated performances will be permitted at venues such as concert halls, live music venues, bars and pubs; Gyms can operate unstaffed, but regular cleaning must be maintained; and The casino gaming floor reopening under agreed temporary restrictions. For WAs major sport and entertainment venues, a 50% capacity rule will apply. Therefore, under Phase 4 the temporary capacity of Optus Stadium will be 30,633 for sport events (35,000 for concerts), HBF Park can hold 10,150 (16,500 for concerts), RAC Arena can hold 7,150 (8,250 for concerts). Today weve also outlined Phase 5 of easing restrictions - which is expected to take effect on Saturday 18 July. Phase 5 will include removing ALL State restrictions except for the hard border with the eastern states and travel restrictions for remote Aboriginal communities. That will include the removal of the 2sqm rule and the 50% capacity rule for our major venues. This will be a significant moment for our State. Phase 4 is another giant step for WA were confident its the right step, at the right time. However, Western Australians must continue to keep up physical distancing where possible and good personal hygiene to better protect themselves and the general health of our community. We need to remain vigilant. We must take nothing for granted. We need to all understand that if you are unwell, dont try be a hero and still go to work. Its simply not worth it. Because if we have an uncontrolled outbreak, we will have to place restrictions back on. And I cannot be clearer on this I dont want to even contemplate that scenario.

20.01.2022 Since COVID-19, running a major event now poses new challenges for organisers. It’s crucial that the community and attendees of those events can have confidence... that the events are being run in a way that will ensure their safety and not pose a risk to the community. But while there may be new requirements, we want to see as many WA events continue to go ahead. So, today, we’ve released new COVID Event Guidelines and Plans to help get those events off the ground. From next Friday, events with more than 500 people that require local government approvals will need an approved COVID Event Plan as part of that process. The COVID Event Plan does not apply to major bars, clubs and their events, it is for large events that do not form part of the usual business. Approval of the plans will assure the community and patrons of the event that sensible public health measures will be adhered to. This is an important step and will allow things such as music festivals and the summer events we all know and love to go ahead in a responsible, safe, and enjoyable way. More information can be found at www.wa.gov.au/covideventplan

19.01.2022 Lunch is nearly ready for our VIP guests!

19.01.2022 Overnight Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Federal Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham injected $50 million into business events to reignite the se...ctor and get people meeting again. Getting business events up and running again will be a critical part of the recovery of our tourism industry, but will also have huge flow on effects through the entire economy, the Prime Minister said. This is not only about supporting events companies and venues, but will also be a shot in the arm for a broad range of businesses and the people they employ whether it is accommodation providers, those who build exhibitions, caterers, cleaners or those offering audio-visual services. Grants of up to $250,000 will be available to eligible business events, to cover up to 50 per cent of costs. 18.01.2022 Fremantles Victoria Quay is set to be transformed into a tourism landmark, with a new micro-brewery, eatery and caf set to open in the historic A Shed buildin...g later next year. Weve granted a lease to local brewing company Gage Roads Brewing Company to refurbish and develop the almost 100-year old building. This is the future of Fremantles Victoria Quay. An iconic destination that we can all be proud of, as Western Australians. The Gage Roads plan will see the heritage-listed goods shed transformed into a working micro-brewery, eatery, al-fresco area, bar and caf. The facility will operate seven days a week as a family-friendly venue geared towards attracting a wide clientele of locals and tourists. The micro-brewery, bar and eatery will take full advantage of the buildings heritage features and A Berth frontage to the port. Refurbishment will be undertaken at Gage Roads expense to plans approved by Fremantle Ports and in accordance with heritage obligations. The redevelopment of A Shed delivers on our election commitment to bring high-value uses to the precinct and develop it as a world class tourist destination. In a challenging economic period, this is a major demonstration of confidence by a key player in the WA hospitality industry, that will generate jobs in both the construction and operational phases. While we get on with plans for a new port in Kwinana, the new life for Fremantle Ports future is about to take shape.

11.01.2022 We've just announced the details of Phase 3 of our roadmap for the easing of restrictions, with significant changes coming into effect on Saturday 6 June. As pa...rt of our carefully planned roadmap, Western Australia is now ready to take the next step. This next step will be significant, and it will be challenging. Before I detail the changes, I will say this - WA’s success allows us to move ahead and take significant steps, BUT we all must continue to act responsibly, that means good physical distancing where possible and good personal hygiene. Because if we have an uncontrolled outbreak, I don’t want to have to place restrictions back on. We cannot afford to undo all our good work. Phase 3 will be introduced from next Saturday, thanks to the success in limiting community transmission in WA during Phase 2, and on the advice of our Chief Health Officer and State Emergency Coordinator. As part of Phase 3, the follow changes will occur: - Non-work indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people will be allowed, a five-fold increase from the current 20-person limit. - Up to 300 people will be allowed in some settings, including for indoor or outdoor venues with multiple, divided spaces, with up to 100 people in each space. - All food businesses and licensed premises can now operate with seated service only, and alcohol may now be served without a meal at licensed premises. - All beauty therapy and personal care services can reopen, including saunas and wellness centres. - Galleries, museums, theatres, auditoriums, cinemas and concert venues can reopen with the 100/300 rule followed. - Perth Zoo will open, as can wildlife parks, amusement parks, arcades and indoor play centres. - Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gym equipment can reopen. - Gyms, health clubs, indoor sports centres will be able to offer the normal range of activities, including use of all gym equipment. However, Gyms will need to be staffed at all times and undertake regular cleaning. - Full contact sport and training will now be permitted in Western Australia. This will mean from next weekend, people of all ages will be able to start competitive contact sports. - Parents and guardians will be able to enter school grounds to drop off or pick up their children as part of Phase 3. - TABs are permitted to reopen. The Chief Health Officer will separately work with Crown Casino on how the gaming floor could reopen in the future. These are all major steps forward for Western Australia. Phase 3 will be a big leap but it’s one we can make under the watchful eye of our expert health advisors. The four square metre rule was introduced in line with health advice. I know it’s a rule that is hurting businesses. I’ve been out for dinner in Rockingham and seen tables and chairs stacked up, because the four square metre rule is limiting the number of people that can be in some venues. As was always going to be the case in Phase 2, the four square metre rule prevented a large number of businesses from opening. As we now increase the limit on gatherings to 100, I wanted to make sure we closely assess this rule. Our Chief Health Officer has now advised, that due to WA’s hard border with the east remaining in place, Western Australia is now in a position to move ahead of the national advice. As part of Phase 3, Western Australia will be the first State in the nation to remove the rule and instead implement a two square metre per person capacity rule for venues. This will replace the four square metre rule, which is the current national position. This is an important and substantial move forward our State, and I hope it means many more businesses will be able to open and employ more Western Australians. I know it’s still not perfect, but we are now able to move ahead of the rest of the nation. In addition, as part of Phase 3, Rottnest Island will reopen to the WA general public. Rottnest has served us well as our own quarantine island during this crisis. We can only make these changes because of the hard work of everyone across our State. But in particular our hard border controls give us the flexibility to progress further along on roadmap. Once again, WA has led the way, and I hope our performance can continue to lay the path forward for the other States. Now is the time for Western Australians to wander our great State and support local businesses. Just like Phase 2, we will carefully monitor the introduction of Phase 3 and its impact in our community. Together, as part of a rigorous consultation process involving the Chief Health Officer and Police Commissioner, we will closely assess Phase 3. We will then work towards further restrictions being eased as part of Phase 4 in coming weeks. This will predominantly be focused on even larger gatherings, the new two square metre rule and some of the other existing restrictions. A time for Phase 4 introduction will be determined in the future, but it will follow the approach we have taken between earlier phases.

10.01.2022 JUST IN: Weve signed a major partnership with the Commonwealth Government and the City of Perth to establish a City Deal driving over $1 billion of investmen...t and unlocking almost 10,000 jobs. A major component of the landmark City Deal is the relocation of Edith Cowan Universitys law and business schools, and our iconic Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts into the heart of our CBD. The $695 million project will form the centrepiece of the Perth City Deal. By 2025 the campus will draw more than 9,200 students and staff into the CBD. The development will create more than 3,000 jobs during construction, as well as over 380 ongoing jobs. The ECU City Campus will bring together programs in technology, industry and creativity, including the WA Academy of Performing Arts, the school of Business and Law and an advanced technology and cyber security centre. As part of the deal, the current ECU site will revert to full WA Government control and ownership and the State Government will now embark on a masterplan for the site. Mount Lawley Senior High School is set to expand into the current Edith Cowan University campus in Mount Lawley as part of a plan to transition the school into specialist performing and visual arts facilities. This will include the school incorporating the world-class WA Academy of Performing Arts facilities. As well as students continuing to enjoy access to the ECU Sport and Fitness gym. The new university will attract thousands of people into the city, delivering a huge boost to local businesses and building on Perths reputation as a vibrant cultural and entertainment district.

09.01.2022 At 12:01am tonight, travellers to Western Australia from interstate will no longer need to meet an exemption category, however they will be required to meet a n...umber of conditions to enter our State. Failure to adhere to those conditions or providing false information upon entry to Western Australia will result in fines of up to $50,000 or even jail time. Tonight, the G2G Pass system will change over to the new declaration system. Travellers to Western Australia will need to complete a declaration stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. They will also need to declare they haven’t travelled to New South Wales or Victoria OR they haven’t knowingly come into contact with someone from those jurisdictions in the past 14 days. Once interstate travellers arrive at the airport, they will be processed, undergoing a health screening and temperature test. All travellers should be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at our newly established Perth Airport COVID Clinics, if deemed necessary by a health clinician. Travellers coming from New South Wales or Victoria, or who have been in close contact with someone from those States, will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days in a suitable premise. In addition, they will also need to take a COVID-19 test on Day 11, before they can come out of quarantine. We know these ongoing controls won't be convenient. There will be delays at the airport. The process may be frustrating for many people. But if you are coming to WA, we ask for your patience and understanding. These controls are in place to protect everyone, including your friends and family here in WA - and they are all in place based on our expert health advice.

07.01.2022 Flying in workers from over east for jobs in our resources industry is no longer sustainable. The industry should be employing workers in WA or have east coast ...workers move to WA. Ive always believed that WA workers can get the job done. Thats why my Government has delivered new policies and laws to put WA jobs first, and its why Ive called on our resource companies to make this important change. It will mean more Western Australians will be employed in our resources industry and more of its benefits staying in WA. And as someone who relocated to WA when I was in the Navy, I can promise this to anyone who moves here: you wont regret it. I congratulate BHP on this decision, its good news for Western Australians and will result in a great outcome for our State. 05.01.2022 Weve just announced the details of Phase 3 of our roadmap for the easing of restrictions, with significant changes coming into effect on Saturday 6 June. As pa...rt of our carefully planned roadmap, Western Australia is now ready to take the next step. This next step will be significant, and it will be challenging. Before I detail the changes, I will say this - WAs success allows us to move ahead and take significant steps, BUT we all must continue to act responsibly, that means good physical distancing where possible and good personal hygiene. Because if we have an uncontrolled outbreak, I dont want to have to place restrictions back on. Phase 3 will be a big leap but its one we can make under the watchful eye of our expert health advisors. The four square metre rule was introduced in line with health advice. I know its a rule that is hurting businesses. Ive been out for dinner in Rockingham and seen tables and chairs stacked up, because the four square metre rule is limiting the number of people that can be in some venues. As was always going to be the case in Phase 2, the four square metre rule prevented a large number of businesses from opening. As we now increase the limit on gatherings to 100, I wanted to make sure we closely assess this rule. Our Chief Health Officer has now advised, that due to WAs hard border with the east remaining in place, Western Australia is now in a position to move ahead of the national advice. I know its still not perfect, but we are now able to move ahead of the rest of the nation.

04.01.2022 This is our WA COVID-19 update for Sunday 10 May 2020. Today we released WA's roadmap for the easing of restrictions over the coming weeks, including informatio...n about Phase 2 which will take effect on Monday 18 May. For information on those changes and to see WA's roadmap, please visit www.wa.gov.au/covid19roadmap It is important people are well informed on the virus, so as new information or advice becomes available we will continue to share it. ---- - Current cases - With around 1700 additional tests completed since yesterday's update, no new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Western Australia. The State’s total number of cases remains 552. There are still just 7 active cases in Western Australia with six involving Western Australians and one involving a person from interstate. To date there have been 55,758 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 9,906 tests were carried out in regional WA. ---- - Testing - Anyone in WA will now be assessed for a COVID-19 test if they present with ANY of the following: - a fever of 38C or above OR - a documented history of a fever in the last few days OR - an acute respiratory infection (e.g. shortness of breath, cough, sore throat) If you have these symptoms, please get tested, and help us identify every case of COVID-19 in WA as early as possible. ---- - COVID clinics - Nine COVID clinics are now operational - all metropolitan area COVID clinics are operational between the hours of 10am-6pm, 7 days a week. The clinics now open are at: - Royal Perth Hospital (Ground Floor, Ainslie House, 48 Murray Street) - Fiona Stanley Hospital (Allied Health 2, Gymnasiums, East End, Bedbrook Row) - Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (C Block, Hospital Avenue) - Armadale Health Service (Ground Floor, 3056 Albany Highway, Mount Nasura) - Rockingham General Hospital (Elanora Drive, Cooloongup) - Midland COVID Clinic: Front of St John of God Midland Hospital (access only via Yelverton Drive) - Joondalup COVID Clinic: Ground floor Joondalup Hospital (Car park P4, Regents Park Road - Enter via outside walkway between Specialist Medical West and Physiotherapy Department) - Bunbury Health Campus (Corner Bussell Highway and Robertson Drive, Bunbury) - open 10am-4pm - Broome Hospital (Robinson Street, Broome) - open 8:30am-4pm In other regional areas, people should go to a public hospital, health service or remote health clinic. Please call ahead if you are concerned that you have contracted COVID-19. Patients will be assessed and where appropriate tested, provided with appropriate information and referred for further medical treatment if necessary. Those individuals who are tested and well enough, will be asked to self-isolate while they await test results. Anyone who is confirmed to have COVID-19, who does not require hospitalisation will be required to stay in self-isolation as instructed by the public health team. It is also extremely important that people who are unwell and are concerned they have COVID-19 should immediately self-isolate and then seek further medical advice. ---- - Additional testing - Geraldton respiratory clinic: The first respiratory clinic in Western Australia has opened in Geraldton. Operating out of an existing GP clinic, the clinic will assess people who have mild to moderate symptoms and is part of the Federal Government’s roll out of dedicated respiratory clinics being set up across Australia. Private pathology collection centres: Patients with a GP referral can be tested at 11 private pathology collection centres across the metropolitan area. Clinipath, Western Diagnostics and Australian Clinical Labs have dedicated these collection centres for COVID-19 testing. This is a pre-emptive measure to ensure the availability of facilities and prompt diagnosis can occur as winter and the influenza season approaches. People in regional and remote areas can continue to present to more than 100 public hospitals, health services or remote area health clinics for testing. The collection centres are: - Western Diagnostic Pathology - Duncraig, Myaree, Rockingham - Australian Clinical Labs - Booragoon, Mandurah, Ocean Reef, Subiaco - Clinipath - Cloverdale, Fremantle, Joondalup, West Leederville ---- - Closure of the WA border - Western Australia's borders are now closed to travel from interstate. An exempt traveller, who will be allowed into our State, must perform one of the following functions: - Health services - Emergency services - Transport, freight and logistics - Specialists skills, not available in WA, for industry or business continuity; - National or State security and governance; and - Courts and judicial services. There are also exemptions for FIFO workers and their families, however strict 14-day quarantine measures will need to be followed, when they first enter the State. Further exemptions will also apply on compassionate grounds. More information and a list of exemptions can be found at www.wa.gov.au/covid19 Additional, stricter directions apply to those coming to WA via the Kimberley, to protect people living in remote Aboriginal communities. Western Australians who are aware of someone breaching a requirement to self-isolate - please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or WA Police on 131 444. ---- - Restrictions on travel within Western Australia - Restrictions over travel between regions within Western Australia are now in effect. Unless you fit an exempt category, you will not be able to leave whatever region of Western Australia you live in. To be clear, those regions are: the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and South West. Due to their proximity and interconnected nature, Perth and Peel will be treated as one region. The exempt categories include: travel for work purposes; to attend medical appointments; to transport freight; those who do not have access to groceries or supplies within their region; returning to a place of residence; where necessary to attend school or an educational institution; caring for family members; and approved compassionate grounds. Check points and mobile police patrols will be in place to monitor travel across boundaries and ensure people are doing the right thing. If your need to travel fits one of the exempt categories, please assist police by preparing documentation, such as a letter/email/SMS from an employer, to support your legitimate travel. An additional restriction on intrastate travel applies for Esperance. Unless for essential purposes, no visits to Esperance will be permitted. ---- - Additional restrictions on travel for the Kimberley - Measures have been implemented to stop the spread of COVID-19 to the Kimberley region. Intra-regional boundaries, in line with the four local government areas (Shire of Broome, Derby West Kimberley, Wyndham East Kimberley, Halls creek) within the Kimberley region are now in place. People must stay in their local government area. The existing exemptions apply, such as provision of essential services or supplies, medical reasons or residents returning to their home. Residents who need to cross a regional boundary to return to their home, must self-isolate for 14 days. Kimberley residents are urged to stay home and cease all non-essential travel and activity. Indoor or outdoor activities of more than two people should be avoided, unless exempted. Anyone displaying symptoms should contact their local health facility immediately. ---- We are taking every precaution to protect Western Australia from COVID-19. The Western Australian health system and our hospitals are very well prepared to manage infectious disease situations and have well established systems and processes in place. The State Government is taking this very seriously and we need to remain prepared for a pandemic. Every action we take and decision we make is to protect Western Australians. It is important that we all continue to remain calm and use common sense. The best thing we can do to protect ourselves is quality personal hygiene and exercise social distancing by avoiding unnecessary personal contact. That includes covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands often with soap or sanitiser, staying home from work or school if unwell, avoiding shaking hands or hugging, and maintaining distance from others in public. Please also continue to follow the advice of authorities and doctors - anyone who is instructed to self-isolate must take the order seriously, stay home and not put others at risk. This means you don’t leave your property, you don’t go to work or school, you don’t go on outings and you don’t have visitors - only leave the house to seek medical attention. ---- Official information regarding COVID-19 in Western Australia - www.wa.gov.au/covid19 WA Department of Health information www.healthywa.wa.gov.au National Coronavirus Helpline 1800 020 080 WA COVID-19 health and information and advice - 13 COVID (13 26843) Smartraveller information regarding travel advice for Australians - www.smartraveller.gov.au

03.01.2022 Our Perth Venue! Call me if you would like a quote for your next event!

03.01.2022 This weekend, hundreds of thousands of Western Australians will be gathering with their friends and family. It might be for a party, to watch the footy or just ...to hang out. Here in WA, since all the way back in July, we've had no hard limit on how many Western Australians can gather together - as long as the venue has 2 square metres per person. Every State is following the health advice that they're getting, relevant to their own situation. WA is no different. Because of the safety and confidence offered by our hard border, we were able to lift the vast majority of restrictions three months ago. As a result, we’ve got back to living in a COVID-safe environment faster than other States, and as a result Western Australians were able to get back to work. Other States, in line with their own health advice, still have strict restrictions on the size of gatherings. In New South Wales, that limit remains at just 20 people, with the 4sqm capacity rule still in place. Yesterday, it was announced that up to 60 people will be allowed to gather at homes in Queensland from the start of December. These are positive steps other States are making and we look forward to seeing them continue to reduce restrictions further, in line with their health advice. The freedoms Western Australians are able to enjoy across our State have only been possible because of our hard border, and that continues to be the advice from our Chief Health Officer. The border won't remain in place forever, and the recent improvement of the situations in the eastern states has been very reassuring. But we also have to remember just how devastating an outbreak would be for Western Australians' lives and their livelihoods. We can only imagine what it has been like for our friends in Victoria over the last few months, and we can't afford to see that happen here. That's why it's so crucial that we continue to follow our expert health advice and be extra cautious, as we continue to make the most of the freedoms and safety in WA.

02.01.2022 JUST IN: We’ve signed a major partnership with the Commonwealth Government and the City of Perth to establish a City Deal driving over $1 billion of investmen...t and unlocking almost 10,000 jobs. A major component of the landmark City Deal is the relocation of Edith Cowan University’s law and business schools, and our iconic Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts into the heart of our CBD. The new university will attract thousands of people into the city, delivering a huge boost to local businesses and building on Perth’s reputation as a vibrant cultural and entertainment district.
