25.01.2022 #throwbackthursday Exactly today, 3 years ago we opened Out Of Nowhere, an exhibition addressing Tasmania's roadkill issue. This island loses an estimated 500 000 wild animals annually due to road accidents alone. A cathartic exercise in every aspect, self funded, we pulled it off. Confronting tourists and locals alike in the epicenter of wilderness in the @wildernessgallery Cradle Mountain. We had three adjoining rooms: 1. IMPACT @jerome_dobinson (first pic) 2. TRANSFORMAT...ION @natasamilenovic_studio (sec pic) 3. Epiphanies about change, that life appears as soon as there is death (decomposing bodies). 09.01.2022 BOUQUET OF LIFE II During covid restrictions, I developed a new body of work with the help of sculpting with polymer clay and plasticine. It has been a soothing and a slightly obsessive exercise where I spent hours shaping the forms of my inspirations, particularly the forest floor and intertidal zone, at home with my kids. For the first time, I then cast elements of these in silver, copper and bronze which I incorporated into my pieces. This year, I also applied more heavily... various types of patinas, which reference time, change and imperfection. 07.01.2022 Brooch commission accomplished. Featuring here with my handwoven, local merino wool scarf by Vicki Taiwo. She works next door to me. I'm in awe of her dedication to this ancient textile craft (loom and all) and she's the one responsible that I'm into making brooches now.

01.01.2022 20 SHIELDS new batch is hatched. During lockdown domestic violence has risen and even when restriction ease it doesn't mean peace for many.
