22.01.2022 My take on the famous 'Mad Hatter's Top Hat' I was commissioned to make this piece for The Waiting Room at Crown Melbourne for their annual Mad Hatter's High Tea Party. I've blocked the top hat with lime green felt, complete with a wired brim edge and vintage green Petersham brim binding, a matching vintage green & purple Petersham ribbon hat band, the lining is a purple polka dot satin material, and the finishing touch is the iconic price tag '10/6' which means 10 shillings and 6 pence in 'old' English money and a couple of beautiful peacock feathers.

13.01.2022 My SS14 collection is named 'QUIRK' due to the quirky nature of each headpiece. I drew on inspiration for the names of each design from several whacky and quirky Hanna-Barbera cartoons that I used to watch when I was a child. Some of these cartoons include: The Powerpuff Girls / Scooby-Doo / Dexter's Laboratory / Clue Club / The Hillbilly Bears / The Jetsons / Devlin / Secret Squirrel.

10.01.2022 My SS14 Black & White collection was named after the song "Polka Dots & Moonbeams" by Frank Sinatra. Each hat is named after an iconic figure throughout history donning the polka dot print.

05.01.2022 Jorja I've used a black fur felt and blocked it on a fedora hat block that's quite deep so the crown is pretty tall. I've wired the brim edge and covered with a Petersham brim binding, with a matching Petersham hat band and head fit and kept it simple with black lining. I've also pinched in the front of the crown to make the peak more narrow.... I LOVE this hat so much I want to make one for myself :)
