22.01.2022 Wishing everybody a very Merry Christmas! Just a reminder that next week will be the last week of lessons for the year (unless we have arranged something else). Have a great break!

09.01.2022 A lovely performance by A, accompanied by her talented nonna. Exam results were released today - an A and a wonderful report for her 2nd grade exam. Well done!

07.01.2022 Some good advice to remember in the lead up to the end of year concert from this article on performance anxiety (I also encourage students to perform for their families and parents as we must practice performing in the same way we practice any other musical technique): http://www.todaysparent.com//kids-h/performance-anxiety-2/ "Fry also discourages parents from allowing their children to avoid or run away from the situation that makes them anxious. The knee-jerk reaction for many parents is to write a note to the teacher, or speak to the coach to try to get their child out of the activity, but that’s not the best route in the long run. Unless it’s really extreme, the focus should be on building up kids’ resilience and power to deal."

06.01.2022 For those asking to take face-to-face lessons during the lockdown period - It is difficult for all of us, but we must heed this advice. If you are worried about your child’s progress, I recommend online lessons to keep up to date and avoid having to re-learn the basics once face-to-face lessons resume.

01.01.2022 F is playing 'Rise and Shine' from the preliminary exam syllabus. We're working on the intonation in this one - it can be difficult to ensure the lower notes are in tune!
