16.01.2022 ~ Travelling Toiletries Bag ~ How does your every day care compare to your travelling toiletries? What are the must haves in your bag? A snapshot of whats in my personal kit on the second last day of an 18 day trip. I havent run out of anything but certainly starting to miss having access to everything at home!... On last years extended trip I only brought two lipsticks and was so over the colours I couldnt wear those shades for another six months! This time I brought 4 - one red @thebalm_cosmetics, three pink (@givemeglowcosmetics and @makeupmonsterscosmetics) to be able to mix it up a bit. Blush from @tartecosmetics and two shades of highlighter from @vanessasvanity. Normal day-to-day range is decanted into smaller bottles for ease - Witch Hazel cleanser/toner, hair conditioner and shampoo. Normally would also have a decanted bottle of tea tree oil, this is actually Davids travel bottle - we also share the pack of cotton wipes Sharing means we dont have to pack as much and have more room for fun stuff! David recently had to change to a special toothpaste, so this one is all mine. Faithful aloe vera moisteriser - great for my sensitive face and Davids inevitable lobster beach sunburn. @liplip_lipbalm moves between toiletries and purse to keep my lips nice and soft! @dkny Pure and a boutique perfume are standards for travel. I prefer "clean" smelling scents when travelling to day-to-day florals - I smell fresh no matter how long Ive been up for! Anyone got any travel skin care tips?

13.01.2022 Isolation is the perfect time to work on your skin care! A regime is essential to keeping your skin supple, healthy and youthful-feeling. Properly hydrated skin should fade white at the touch and plump back up immediately - a quick test to see how much youve been drinking! Your skin loooooves water! So make sure to feed it lots. Taking a nap? Good old cucumber slices on the eyes is both cooling, glam-feeling AND your skin will soak in the vitamins and water when applied to ...the face! My daily routine, which works best for my combination, hypo-allergenic skin: I use @simpleskin cleanser if Ive used any makeup, creams or had a particularly dirty day. I love foaming face washes, feels so clean! Yes, I do make myself Santa beards! I use my astringent toner (plain ole witch hazel) to then deep clean any oils, or left over dirt/makeup. Eyeliner can just STICK. Tea Tree oil is a miracle product. Any time I break out or my face is red or what have you, I dab on some tea tree and the next day - all clear! Aloe vera 99% from (@thursday_plantation) is my moisturiser. I use it as much as possible, particularly around my nose which loves to be dry. None of these products have any fancy ingredients and all are easily available. I used branded step skin programs for years, but they just didnt work for me, so I peeled my whole regime right back. My lovely friend @thecrazylacespinner made the pink facial pad, so I can move into a more waste-free lifestyle! If you have had recent makeup appointments with me, you may have gotten to feel the nifty little number yourself! So easy to clean and takes care of our environment! I personally try to reuse all my bottles too - pump bottles are great for handmade facial mixes! Were not wearing as much makeup at home, zoom meetings are not the same as face-to-face, so give your skin a bit of a break and let it breathe with just moisturiser. Once a week, I do a face mask - I love my "Barbie" @biokos_mt mask (I do treat myself and use their step system too), it dries to a clear film to peel off. I also use a clay mask from @swisseau as well as my own handmade mixes, depending on my skins needs. Love SK2? Try Missha!
