24.01.2022 Lucy Hood is an incredible person, authentic, committed, super smart and determined. She will be an awesome MP. If you live in the seat of Adelaide please give her your support. I’m proud to call her a friend.

23.01.2022 Barossa Enterprises Incorporated support employment for people with a diverse range of disabilities across sites in Clare, McLaren Vale and Nuriootpa. I popped into the Nuriootpa site and spoke to Kerry about the range of products they produce for industry and for sale at local markets! I look forward to visiting their Seaford site when it opens soon.

23.01.2022 Minister Spiers has again shut his Facebook down as he refuses to assist wildlife rescuers. Just ridiculous. Such a glass jaw. Thankyou Susan Close MP for helping to raise awareness. Adelaide Koala Rescue need support not to be ignored!

19.01.2022 South Australian Labor provides its full support for the COVID-19 vaccination project and is making constructive proposals to the Government to ensure its success.

18.01.2022 Elf caught snacking today!

17.01.2022 SIGN and SHARE to save the Adelaide 500! PETITION here: changesa.org.au/save500 The public has been very upset in the media today about Steven Marshall’s decision to kill the Adelaide 500 forever. Make your voice count!

17.01.2022 I've written myself about the current Homelessness reforms, the process, the lack of true and meaningful consultation and the government not listening to the issues being raised by the sector generally. It seems the sector has written to Minister Lensink via her department in a joint plea for them to listen. Sadly it's falling on deaf ears.

17.01.2022 Today South Australia has finally scrapped the so-called 'gay panic' defence for murder. I’m proud to have spoken in support of the abolition of this archaic defense. A huge shout out to the LGBTIQ warriors who have fought for this tirelessly. ... Rainbow Labor SA South Australian Rainbow Advocacy Alliance Inc The Equality Project - Australia Equality Australia

15.01.2022 Unbelievable to hear the Marshall Liberal Government have killed the Adelaide 500!! Their excuse?...... COVID!!!! What nonsense! Mad March won’t be the same. A huge loss for tourism and hospitality. ... Let Steven Marshall know that this decision is a disgrace, and it’s entirely of his own making!!!

13.01.2022 Andrea Michaels and I are working together with our Labor teams to build a housing policy focused on wellbeing that will leave no one behind. Today we attended the Community Housing Council of South Australia AGM. The Board and Staff do a great job supporting the sector to provide housing options for people that need them. We chatted with Connie who is one of those that need a home.

13.01.2022 Happy International Teacher’s Day to all of the incredible teachers in our community! Thankyou for being so awesome in a really tough year I loved seeing the incredible Auslan skills today at the Pimpala Primary School assembly. Teachers in our schools ensure an environment that nurtures diversity and inclusion. It’s wonderful!

10.01.2022 A long productive day kicking off out north with a story about the 1700+ vacant public housing properties in the system. I then headed to Victor Harbor to meet with a large group of women who are wanting to see more services to support Palliative Care patients and their families. I was presented with a lovely posy as thanks. It was impossible to not stop at Harvest The Fleurieu on the way back where I got this enormous box of sweet strawberries for $8.00!!!

10.01.2022 While I love sharing the magic and mystery of Christmas with my youngest son Sid, my family also knows that many people really do it tough, especially this year. This Christmas I'm collecting for teenagers in need. Join me in making up part or all of an Advent Calendar Treasure Box! ... Please drop items to my office by December 20 so we can deliver to Treasure Boxes in time for Christmas. The list of items is in the images.

10.01.2022 The Estimates process is an opportunity for us to question the Minister and their staff across the entire portfolio that I have carriage of in our team. In my case it's the Human Services Minister and Department, Disability, Housing, Volunteers, Youth/Youth Justice and Volunteers. Today I spoke to some of the areas of concern including how much time is used up by the Minister doing introduction statements and answering pre-arranged questions by her own MP's... we call them ...Dorothy Dixers... Given the little time we get for questions time wasting is a tactic to avoid scrutiny. It's a long speech... 20 minutes actually...

07.01.2022 Reg recently celebrated his 93rd birthday! Unfortunately Reg had some surgery on his hip and had to spend his birthday in rehab ... where having 2 beers on your birthday was seen as a bit excessive. I was delighted to drop in and visit Reg with a nice ale from Goodieson Brewery and wished him a belated happy birthday.

07.01.2022 I was contacted recently by a local resident who was unable to attend the recent street corner meetings. He had concerns regarding the need for a bin at Farnsworth Drive and I was happy to advocate on his behalf. SUCCESS! Thanks City of Onkaparinga for ensuring locals have somewhere to put their rubbish and keep our community litter free.

06.01.2022 The Superloop Adelaide 500 is more than a car race - it's about the people, the culture and the economy. A Peter Malinauskas Labor Government will bring back the race. Sam's parents were told their severely Autistic son would never talk or play. It was the car race and a chat with Mark Skaife that started him talking. ... He's finished school and is now well on his way to being a Mechanical Engineer. Today he delivered a loud and clear message to the Liberal Government. So many southern locals there. Great to see you. Doing this for you

05.01.2022 Thank you to the very kind and anonymous woman who dropped by my office this afternoon with a box of donations for Treasure Boxes. She also left a lovely note of support for my team and I working hard on really tough legislation to ensure women’s reproductive rights are protected. Thank you for leading with love and by example

05.01.2022 Today I was treated to a tour of Novita and it’s wonderful Novitatech assistive technology equipment workshops. A truly impressive facility with such skilled staff. 04.01.2022 The SA Liberals spent $320,000,000 on consultants last year. A big chunk of this went towards breaking the Premier Marshall promise that he didn’t have a privatisation agenda

03.01.2022 Wear a mask. And an appropriate mask it is on Southern Pride Day celebrating 5 years of Pride of the South!! Cheers

03.01.2022 Thanks to Tony from Woodcroft Probus Club for dropping in these lovely handmade toys that I can’t wait to pay forward to Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC.! The Christmas Spirit is alive in Hurtle Vale. If you are looking for more information on Probus, give Tony a buzz on 0431 401 802

02.01.2022 How fascinating is the US election! We really do have a very good democracy here in Australia. Some of the online behavior and comments from leaders and commentators have been anything from laughable to terrifying! I look forward to seeing a fair and accepted result emerge over the next days to weeks. ... In the meantime.... what’s your favorite tweet or meme? I think this one is aging particularly well... In addition get on twitter and follow #ihavewonpennsylvania. Hilarious!

01.01.2022 This is a great story of innovation. Full story at link below but here's the key info. Congrats Tip Top!! "About 11 million plastic bread tags will be replaced by recyclable cardboard tags in South Australia by the end of next year, with Tip Top leading the charge on sustainability. The six-decade-old baker, which runs its baking operations in South Australia out of Dry Creek, has a stated commitment for all of its packaging to be 100 per cent recyclable, reusable or compos...table by 2025. The company searched the globe for an alternative to the ubiquitous plastic bread tag, looking for a solution which didn’t compromise on the quality of their baked goods, while also being recyclable."
