14.01.2022 Please share - we just want to be able to open in-line with similar businesses... The most recent announcements for both Regional Vic and Metro Melbourne incl...ude the resumption of (with appropriate density and Covid policies): -Non-contact indoor physical recreation -Non-contact indoor community sport for under 18s -Indoor gyms and fitness centres -Indoor trampolining centres. However, Skateparks are still listed as outdoor open, indoor closed. I can not understand how similar indoor businesses, including businesses with high touch/shared equipment (gyms/trampolines) are allowed to re-open, yet indoor skate parks are singled out to remain closed. Following the first lockdown we were able to re-open in-line with these other indoor businesses with appropriate Covid policies - noting no Covid outbreaks were linked to indoor skate parks. Our predominate business is the provision of skateboard lessons to children under 18. We do not have high touch equipment. All participants must have their own helmets and pads. I see no health reasons why we can not re-open with the same requirements as gyms and other indoor fitness/physical recreation businesses. It appears that my small business is being unfairly discriminated against, compared to other mainstream indoor businesses.
