25.01.2022 Event cancelation and postponements of NAS-National All Styles tournaments Sydney and Melbourne 8th of March due to (Chinese government shut down Of all factory’s including our supplier for trophies. I spoke to our suppliers here in Australia and have just been told the Chinese government has again pushed back the production dates for all factories to re-open due to coronavirus outbreak that is spreading far and wide and moving across China's manufacturing sector.... China, known as the factory to the world, plays a crucial role in the global supply chain and world economy. The impact has already been felt from the extended shutdown in China's manufacturing sector all over the world and here in Australia. The shutdown affects not some particular companies but all manufacturing as a whole in China and they are still uncertain how many factory workers will return to their factory to recommence work?? 09.01.2022 SUPPORTING EACH OTHER THROUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC We hope this post finds you and your family all safe and well. As we all know the COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted our lives. It is important to acknowledge this, and also look at the ways we can help ourselves, our colleagues, families and friends stay safe and well as we deal with a rapidly evolving situation. We must also keep abreast of all issues and national guidelines set out by Federal and State governments ...with regard to restrictions and easing of restrictions that will enable us to get back on the playing field of the sport we love. Sadly a second wave of coronavirus has hit Victoria / Melbourne and has brought the state into a total lockdown situation. New South Wales is also showing strong signs of a potential second wave of coronavirus, which now threatens to bring a potential lockdown in that state as well. The coronavirus outbreak has led to a great deal of uncertainty about the 2020 sporting calendar throughout Australia, with many sporting bodies already cancelling games and events due to restrictions on contact and distancing in sport. Over the past seven months we have held monthly meetings with all State Directors regarding resuming the NAS competition throughout Australia for the remainder 2020. We have been unable to recommence the NAS circuit due to government guidelines and restrictions. NAS / NATIONAL ALL STYLES TOURNAMENT CIRCUIT POTENTIAL EVENTS FOR 2020. - SUBJECT TO COVID I’m an optimist, hoping that things will settle down by September, so we can hold the following NAS tournament events subject to COVID-19 A/ Queensland State Open Championship (October 18th Cararra Indoor Stadium Gold Coast) B/ New South Wales State Open Championship (TBA) C/ Victoria State Open Championship (October 25th TBA) D/ Australian Capital Territory State Open Championship (September TBA) E/ 2020 NAS National Open Championships Gold Coast (December 5-6) Note: All the above events are subject to the current COVID-19 situation. As most will be aware, the Australian government announced new recommendations regarding COVID-19. All non-essential gatherings over 500 people are to be banned. Due to the dynamic nature of the spread of the virus and measures to contain it, (NOTE: WE ARE NOT CANCELLING OUR UP-COMING EVENTS ). NSW, VIC, QLD in MAY - and ACT in June) The NAS Board of Directors, will make decision about each up-coming state events first ( WEEK IN APRIL ) based on the best information available at time time from the State,National Government and medical experts. Currently, Australia does not have widespread community transmission of COVID-19. To help slow the spread, the Australian Government has advised, effective from Monday 16 March, organised, non-essential gatherings should be limited to 500 people in the hope to contain the virus. The sporting world is feeling the weight of the COVID-19 outbreak that's spread from China to most countries around the world and here in Australia This week, few industries were left untouched by the virus, which the World Health Organization has officially declared a global pandemic. What events are being cancelled? The events the Government is recommending be called off include concerts, festivals, shows and sport. Some sporting events will go ahead, but without spectators. It's not recommending the closure of schools, universities or childcare centres yet and public transport will continue to operate. "Generally speaking, we're talking about a static gathering where people are together for a period of perhaps up to two hours," Australia's chief medical officer Brendan Murphy said. "That is generally where you have a high risk of exposure. "Casual exposure walking through a train station or an airport is much, much lower risk, so we're talking about those constant periods of contact." Australian Health Sector Emergency Response Plan for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) The Australian Health Sector Emergency Response Plan for Novel Coronavirus (the COVID-19 Plan) was endorsed by the AHPPC on 17 February 2020. The Australian Government will continue to monitor the emerging information and evidence closely. It will work with jurisdictions, through key committees and other relevant experts, to adapt the COVID-19 Plan as new information becomes available.
