24.01.2022 In what has already been a challenging 2020, we are now fast approaching a time of year which traditionally places extra strain on our mental health. Managing the ‘end of year rush’, farm-related fatigue, over-indulgence in food and alcohol, and the challenges of social interaction (or isolation) means this is not always the joyful time portrayed. Fortunately there is help and support available through the National Centre for Farmer Health's Online Psychology Service with Bul...k Billing option now available. The National Centre for Farmer Health have partnered with Lysn to improve access to mental health care across the rural farming regions of Australia through the use of a telehealth platform. The Lysn platform gives rural men and women the ability to access services from their own home and arrange a one-on-one confidential session with a fully qualified Australian AHPRA approved Psychologist who understands the many factors of farming life and work that contribute to mental health challenges. Giving youthe most important farming assetgreater control over your wellbeing. Bulk billed sessions are now available with a referral and mental health care plan from your GP. 17.01.2022 Wellness Wednesday - Asthma Asthma attacks can develop over a few minutes or a few days. In an emergency situation, farming men, women, children and agricultural workers need to act quickly as they may have longer travel distances to seek medical treatment placing them at greater health risk.
