25.01.2022 Masuto Residence, is defined and grounded by the elegant use of National Masonry- Smooth Face Pearl Grey blockwork blade walls that bring a timeless, contemporary and raw textural aesthetic to this unique elongated duplex home located in Melbourne. As a strong architectural design element, the structural blockwork blade walls on the eastern and western perimeters were offset to allow northern sunlight to flood internal areas. The staggered blockwork blades frame views and... enhance connection to the landscape, whilst simultaneously providing sun protection and visual and acoustic privacy from neighbours. The distinctive stackbond, blockwork runs internally and externally for the length of the residence. The blockwork is also incorporated in hard landscaping to the rear pool terrace and front yard fences to the street unifying the interior and exterior. Reverse blockwork veneer was chosen for its thermal quality and the ability to express the distinctive material internally, for its colour and texture as a stunning backdrop for artwork. The Smooth Face Pearl Grey blockwork complements and grounds the palette of other expressed materials that include soft grey timber flooring and contrasting dark, black, timber walls. Meticulous detailing by Architect and Builder using key material blockwork to accentuate light, texture and thermal quality. See more

01.01.2022 The immediate sense upon arrival is a wow factor with the impact of 4 metre high walls throughout the length of the property representing the raw beauty of masonry. These 4 Brighton townhouses do just this! Architect Richard Ekberg's choice of a striking white exposed aggregate masonry with contrasting natural timber and black metals in its structure throughout makes a bold statement. The result being a competitively priced building material that stamped uniqueness, character... and elegance. lmported products were considered but budget and the tantalizing draw of a local product won the stakeholders over. Using a quarter height calibrated unit 390x90x40mm this re - introduces the raw saw cut look of masonry with a consistent professional machine finish. This new product line extension is natural in colour just from its raw materials used in manufacture. Comfort existed with no oxide colorings therefore as a natural product it means it cannot fade! It has a water and mould resistant property manufactured with the block for life of the block and therefore dwellings. "The beauty of a product is one that changes its appearance upon closer inspection"
