19.01.2022 This coming Sunday, 14 July, the Geological Society of Australia in conjunction with the NRG Steering Committee will be hosting a Walking tour of the National R...ock Garden and Midwinter Brunch The GSA and NRG are pleased to extend the invitation to attend to you, the Friends of the National Rock Garden, and your families. So if you’ll be in Canberra, please join us for a walking tour of the National Rock Garden, followed by a Midwinter Brunch at the National Arboretum’s Sprout café. https://www.nationalarboretum.act.gov.au/visit/eat-and-drink Members of the NRG Steering Committee will present some interesting facts on the Federation (and other) rocks on display PLUS we are excited to show you our current plans for an Interim Gallery Display onsite. You’ll be able to see where we hope to place the display and we’ll talk about what rocks we would like to include. When: Sunday 14 July 11:00am 1:30pm. Where: The site of the National Rock Garden, Barrenjoey Drive, and then Sprout Café at the National Arboretum. FYI, parking at the Rock Garden is free. The Arboretum has paid parking. The walking tour is free to attend but you will need to pay for your own lunch. The ACT has a fantastic portfolio of candidates for fossil emblem, each with geological significance, unique characteristics representative of the ACT, and interesting stories of discovery....
