17.01.2022 Ok ok this might take a bit of reading. So on Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of putting on a tournament for MTA (Qld) in honour of my old mate Allan Bell.... It was a great success with approx 150 athletes competing and lots of trainers, spectators ( both live and 500+ on live stream), paid staff and volunteers, whom without these events don’t happen. -Sharon Joe Hilton and her amazing team who always cover the entry - Melina Nrf Aust who is the one who really makes me look like I’m good at what I do!! -Melissa Walsh who can manage a fight show while minding 3 boys (1 of which actually competed as well) - President Anthony Manning for your on going support - the #urbanarmy and a group of volunteers from Iron Fist gym, who did what needed doing. - Dr Ben Mannion, always reliable and cool under pressure. - The MTA R&J from all over Qld and NSW for making yourselves available. - Brian Anyos for getting a boxing ring set up under 3 hrs notice. Thank you. - Budgie Hill ring hire, always on time! - Rob Watterton amazing sound and last to leave, thanks again. -Raido Kaljund and National Security Provider for expert advice and service - Carrara Stadium and especially Shelagh Smart, super easy to deal with Finally all the gym owners, trainers and atheletes that made the day a fantastic tribute to a man that has really had a massive impact on my life and also many in the Muaythai industry. To Daniel Bell and his family, mum Trish and everyone else, we all love and miss Al so much and really hope this day is just a small token of this. In 2013 Al gave me the support and confidence to start the MTA Nationals which has grown so much since then, now we have another amazing event on the Qld Muaythai calander which I’m sure will only get bigger and better each time.
