The project included the fit-out of two new areas within the facility that was previously unutilised. 13.01.2022 Emergency Solutions - case study National Fire attended an emergency call out for a pipe leak at one of our maintenance properties in Double Bay, our technician repaired the small leak (temporarily) and we advised the client the pipe required replacement. After investigation, it was identified that the water feed to the property was connected to multiple other tenancies (including a supermarket & childcare centre) so the timing to stop the water feed was limited.... After negotiation with the building management for the block we were able to secure a night time shut down for 5 hours commencing at 8pm on Monday night. We liaised with Sydney Water to organise the shutdown, the team organised prefabricated components as we had a limited window to complete the repairs. National Fire replaced the jacking pump, the damaged feed pipe and installed a new test drain to reduce the likely hood of the pipe corroding again. 09.01.2022 Recently we were awarded the maintenance contract for fire protection for 188 Maroubra Rd, Maroubra this is a new property completed in 2018 by TQM Design & Construct, we are very pleased when we get the opportunity to look after a building built by a quality construction company. This property is consists of 57 residential apartments, 3 level basement and 3 retail shops. National Fire is often awarded a project in the first year after completion and what we've found is that... many buildings in Sydney look great from the outside on closer inspection you can see the shortcuts and fire compliance assets that are not installed correctly/commissioned, often with lots of passive fire issues and not really planning out the back of house very well.
