25.01.2022 Amid the confusion that surrounds many facets of our life at the moment, we would like you to know that our planning for the National Show in Melbourne continues and, subject to any direction to the contrary, the show is still planned to go ahead on 28 30 August. The Board intends to review the decision in May, primarily taking into account the health and welfare of our members based on the situation as it stands at that time. As you all know, that situation and available i...nformation is currently changing on a daily basis but we all hope for a greater level of stability and positivity by the end of June. This review will also be combined with a watchful eye on the financial commitment required to proceed. Meanwhile, the convenors continue with the behind the scenes details to prepare for the show. This naturally includes fund-raising activities to support the show and we will continue to accept your sponsorship commitment with payment to be collected after 1 July when entries open. All being well, we can all get together again in August. Mark the dates on your calendar! Paul Haslin and Lyn Dickson, Convenors

15.01.2022 A great big thank you to these 5 studs. They have unhesitatingly put their hands up (and in their pockets) to be our foundation major sponsors for the 2020 National Show. Because of their generosity and spirit of participation, we are able to get on with the job of bringing a top class National Alpaca Show to the Melbourne Showgrounds in August. There is, of course, plenty of room for much more sponsorship support at a range of levels. If it is important to you that we presen...t a world-class event, get in touch with Lyn ([email protected]) and find a level of involvement that fits your budget and your industry profile. Sponsor a championship in the age sections or maybe the colour championship of your preference. Your early commitment gives you the best selection of the sponsorship options and the greatest opportunity for industry exposure in the lead up to the show. If you have any questions about the 2020 National Show your convenors are always available for a chat, meanwhile watch this page for news and information. 13.01.2022 Did you attend the Australian Alpaca Nationals? We'd love your feedback on the survey!

13.01.2022 We are very disappointed to announce that the National Show will not go ahead in its usual format in 2020. Unfortunately, the show cannot proceed due to the COVID-19 physical distancing rules. With 2 judges, handler and ring steward around the one animal we would be unable to protect our judges and exhibitors in the ring. The Board wanted to give our members as much notice as possible as we are aware that some of you may be thinking about booking accommodation and making travel arrangements. Keep an eye out for details about a "mega" fleece show to be held towards the end of 2020.

Paul Haslin has been appointed by the Board to return as convenor of the 2020 Nationals, with Lyn Dickson as co-convenor....
