03.01.2022 The federal government today announced further changes to make JobKeeper more widely available in light of the lockdowns in Victoria. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, speaking on morning radio and TV, said the government will make two key changes affecting business eligibility and employee eligibility. Under changes announced on July 21, businesses needed to satisfy the decline in turnover test for each of the June and September quarters in order to be eligible beyond September 2...8. Now, businesses will only need to satisfy the turnover test for the September quarter. Employees will be eligible if they were employed on July 1, rather than March 1. The changes will apply across Australia and are expected to add an extra $15 billion in JobKeeper payments.
