Produce sold is harvested from the Arboretum and made by volunteers. Vegetables and herbs are grown organically in the Discovery Kitchen Garden and the Sensory Garden.... 24.01.2022 Congratulations to the winner of the National Reconciliation Week competition at the National Arboretum Canberra, Mark Sanderson! Mark will be receiving a hand woven piece of art, adorned with emu feathers by local artist Jessika Spencer. Mark shared his experience of the barriers to reconciliation as well as the process that he hopes will ensure Australian Indigenous culture is part of everyday life. Thank you to everyone who entered and shared their thoughts, hopes and aspirations for reconciliation it was very heart-warming to read. For those who missed out, don’t be discouraged, there’s another opportunity coming up for you to get your hands on a piece of art! 22.01.2022 Each year the Jake Keller scholarship is awarded to a CIT horticultural student. The scholarship offers financial assistance as well as work experience placement at the National Arboretum Canberra. Carol Dale, the 2019 recipient, has spent a week at the Arboretum and was instrumental in planting English Oaks in Forest 82 and Golden Wattle in the Pod Playground. From preparation to planting and mulching, it was a pleasure to have Carol with us for the week. The Jake Keller scholarship was founded in memory of Justin Alfred Keller, Foundation Member of the Arboretum. This scholarship links his two passions, the National Arboretum Canberra and education.

We want to let you know that the grass in our amphitheatre has received a treatment containing coloured vegetable dye. It is non-toxic however may result in green colour transfer to skin and clothing.
