25.01.2022 NECA has welcomed the Federal Governments Payment Times Reporting Scheme saying it is an important step in ensuring small medium enterprises (SMEs) get paid in full and on time but cautioned that it must not mire business in red tape. NECA said the Scheme will bring much needed transparency to business payments and help hard working SMEs, but warned it must be simple for businesses to report so it does not become a barrier to big business working with SMEs. These audits will focus on key areas identified in the outcomes of the ABCC’s 2019 labour hire audit campaign. Three simple steps to prepare: 1. Make sure you are paying your employees correctly... Check that you are paying your employees the right amount under the relevant enterprise agreement or modern award. 2. Make sure you are keeping all required records Your records and pay slips must comply with the requirements in the Fair Work Act and Fair Work Regulations. 3.
