23.01.2022 Congratulations to our 2020 TAFE NSW Excellence Award Winner from the National Environment Centre, Joe Forster. Joe is the International Student of the Year and he studied a Diploma of Permaculture. Having returned to the UK earlier in the year, Joe recently started a new job working as a Sustainable Development Advisor for Natural England. In this role he works on issues surrounding nutrient discharge into the Solent Waterbodies, which are internationally significant bird s...ites. Tamileigh not only won the Agribusiness Student of the Year Award, but she also taken out the overall Student of the Year Award. For the practical component of the Diploma of Sustainable Practice, Tamileigh designed, delivered, monitored, evaluated, and reported on a sustainability project that included produ...cing a stakeholder engagement plan and sustainability strategy. In delivering on the documents she developed, Tamileigh was able to achieve an amazing grant funding of $380,000 to implement sustainability initiatives at her workplace. While Tammy was already a highly experienced emergency response worker before she enrolled at TAFE NSW Albury in the Advanced Diploma Public Safety/Emergency Management, she wanted to become a more valuable and more knowledgeable member of her community.... Through her course work, Tammy has not only become more educated in the ways of emergency preparedness work that combat agencies undertake, but also more capable of assisting local disaster welfare agencies by educating them in recovery efforts.
