14.01.2022 Did you know more than a third of Australia’s jockeys are involved in accidents every year? Most of them have had at least one fall during their career that required medical attention. Like many sports, interests and occupations, every pursuit in life has its associated risks. Each year 40% of jockeys will have a fall that will prevent them from riding for an average of five weeks, if not longer.... Those are startling numbers, and it highlights how dangerous a jockey's job can be. 10.01.2022 Six years ago today we lost an outstanding jockey, Caitlin Forrest, doing what she loved most. A gorgeous girl who lived and breathed racing. When we reflect on times like these, it highlights how life is short and how dangerous the sport is. We will always remember Caitlin as an ‘incredibly bright, vibrant and hard-working young woman who’s life was taken too soon. 06.01.2022 Who wants to play some golf? In 6 weeks, it will be the SA Jockeys Association Golf Day, and it will be held on Monday the 23rd of November at the @glenelggolfclub. Last years event was a blast with guest players Kerrin McEvoy, Dwayne Dunn, Dylan Dunn, Shane Scriven and Steven Arnold all having a hit of golf. This year we’re inviting you to join us again for another great day of golf with racing participants and special guests. If you’re unable to play, that's ok; you can still join us for the luncheon!
