20.01.2022 Pemulwuy! Coffee Choir 2 The Kelly Gang (conductor: Noel Ancell OAM) perform Go Composer: Timothy C Takach The composer writes of this piece: There are no actual lyrics in Go. Instead, I have combined phonemes together to sound improvised and to support the melody and rhythms. The piece features balanced phrases, but cutting an eighth note off the end changes the pulse from on the beat to off beat, then back. Singers will have no trouble learning the music, and will have a ...delightful time figuring out the rhythmic puzzle, yet all they have to do is keep a steady quarter pulse! https://www.youtube.com/watch See more

10.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday Pemulwuy! edition. Seeing as though today would have been the finale concert of the 2020 Festival, let's rewind the clock back to the 2014 Festival. Every finale concert is special in its own way, but this one was extra special as it was conducted by the Pemulwuy! song composer, Paul Jarman. Watch the moving massed choir piece below, performed at QPAC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zURclRGBk4A
09.01.2022 Dear Pemulwuy! community We are disappointed to announce that the Pemulwuy! Prelude Concert Series scheduled for 1 and 2 April 2020, has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns around the impact of the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. This is also in line with the Government directive that any event over 500 people in the near future is to be cancelled. Please know that we are saddened by this decision as we have been so delighted with the response from host schools, choirs an...d audience members about their involvement. We will now be working with the aim to deliver a like event in term 1 2021, as the aim of the event to encourage and celebrate the male voice in our local community remains the same. Decisions regarding the Pemulwuy! National Male Voice Festival scheduled for 7-10 July 2020 will occur in the first part of term 2. There is no higher priority than the health of our choristers, their families and the broader community. Until we can meet again in person, please keep smiling, keep singing, watch out for one another and support each other as we undertake this tumultuous ride together. Thank you for your understanding.
