Last Friday we surprised and awarded Class 4T and their Amazing teacher Belinda Thompson with a Nude Food Grant for $378! 4T are Calling a Wrap on Plastics! Since learning about the state of our oceans and the crisis of the Great Pacific Ocean Garbage Dump, 4T has decided to be a more environmentally sustainable classroom. Between 14th- 31st October we will be awarding the winners of our Nude Food Grant School Program with $10,000 in cash and prizes! 24.01.2022 Congratulation's to the Year 6/7 Eco Warrior Team from Edwardstown Primary School (SA) for winning $253! They used the LitteratiApp to record 2,791 pieces of litter the school community picked up over the last 12 months. Their mission by the end of this year is to be Nude Food Warriors on Monday and Wednesday each week to reduce litter in the local area. Next year, they will continue to build Nude Food Movement across the school.... They applied for $253 to purchase recycling bins, which they believe will help greatly help them to make sensible waste decisions in school, at home and in the local community. #nudefoodday #nudefoodgrant #winners
23.01.2022 Last Friday we surprised and awarded Thomas Mitchell Primary School with a Nude Food Grant for $1,200 CASH! After speaking with the applicant, teacher Elizabeth Cooke we learnt that 3 very talented leadership students Aaliyah, Alyssa and Chelsea worked tirelessly on putting together this winning PowerPoint submission. Elizabeth explained that their goal is To have every student participate in a cooking session to create healthy Nude Food Lunches to expand their already ext...ensive Nude Food program. The $1,200 grant will cover costs for food for 800 students and immerse ALL students in our school in our Nude Food Education Program. Students will then educate their parents and the wider community Thats a tiny $1.50 budget per student! The school boasts students from 73 different cultures and the cooking classes will feature lunch menus from all over the world! 23.01.2022 This afternoon we were extremely proud to award Year 6 Leadership students Saskia McIntyre and Emily Fenton at a special secret assembly, followed by the best Nude Food Picnic! Saskia & Emily shared their awesome nude food efforts and video submission but had no idea that the Nude Food Team was there to award them with a Nude Food Grant! "We are part of the leadership team at St. Columbkilles and we are trying to help the teacher educate the students about sustainability. Mos...t of Year 6 do not come trash free so we are hoping to give each year 6 student (60 students) a lunch box so they can set a better example to our younger classes" - Students Saskia and Emily. 21.01.2022 Congratulations to St. Mark's Primary School students Crystal, Jessica & Talia who we visited last Wednesday to award a Nude Food Grant for $412! The Sustainability Leaders applied for 29 Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunch Boxes to award an outstanding class that always wins the school's nude food competition. 20.01.2022 On Tuesday we were delighted to have the opportunity to visit Murray Farm Public School to surprise and award them with a Nude Food Grant for $1,790! The school has a goal to reduce waste in the playground and encourage less single-use plastic, by running their first Nude Food Day! 20.01.2022 Last week we surprised and awarded South Melbourne Primary School with a VEGEMITE Grant! South Melbourne Primary School opened its doors to 200 students in 2018 as the first vertical school to be built in Victoria. Most children attending the school live in high-rise apartments and do not have many opportunities to engage with gardening, composting or growing food. The teachers want to show them what is possible to achieve in urban spaces.... They have discovered that their school produces approximately 14kg of organic waste a day and requires a solution to process this waste to keep it out of landfill. They will use their grant of $480 to purchase 6 purchase Green Cones which are an innovative solution to recycling all the school's organic waste. 16.01.2022 Congratulation's to St. Joseph's Primary School, Parramatta Park (QLD) for winning our Mini Garden Challenge! We received so many creative entries but we couldn't go past this one. This unique idea involves re-purposing discarded toys to create fun little pots to engage kids to plant and look after their own seedlings! They used rubber animal toys, cut holes out of them, spray painted them and then put soil and planted herbs in them.... Missed out? 15.01.2022 Yesterday we surprised Class 5C at Holy Name Primary School (VIC) to award them for an excellent grant application led by student Cameron. Cameron applied for $1,500 Nude Food Grant, on behalf of his class to purchase 500 Stainless Steel Straws, enough to provide one for every drink sold at the school fete in November. After reading Cameron's submission, we were inspired to create special Reusable Stainless Steel Straws for Cameron, engraved with #smashthetrash ... We wish Cameron, Grade 5C and Holy Name Primary a wonderful school fete and we are very proud to help stop 500 disposable plastic straws from entering our oceans and save 500 sea turtles! Our hope is that the school community will continue to reuse their new straws and this number will continue to multiply. #nudefoodday #nudefoodgrant #winner

Baulkham Hills North Public School NEEDS those working worm farms to help us REDUCE our waste, RECYCLE our organic waste and enhance our SUSTAINABLE gardening practices. Currently we have 1 worm farm for 917 students! We are proud to announce 3 Winners, the 4th one still to come later today. Congratulation's to Heidi from Balcatta Primary School (WA), G-Force Team from Aranda Primary School (ACT) and the Year 8 Class from Findon High School (SA) for each winning a Nude Food Grant!... BALCATTA P.S - Heidi is 6 years old and passionate about making a difference at her school. She has applied for $3,450 to supply every student at her school with a Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunch Box and a Snack Tube! ARANDA P.S- To encourage students to pack nude food lunches the G- Force applied for $718 to create 500 Nude Food Recipe booklets to distribute to the school community. FINDON H.S- The year 8 class will undertake 30 days of research to find 30 ways they can improve healthy eating and environmental sustainability in their school. The school applied for $496 to go towards their '30 DAYS 30 Changes' including; Indigenous Food Production Speaker, smoothie ingredients and native herbs/ vegetables to establish an edible garden.

We were lucky enough to visit the school on Wednesday to surprise and award the students in person! Snug Primary are educating our students on the need to reduce our waste, so we are not contributing to landfill. To provide each of the 375 students with a Rubbish Free Lunch Box we will not only reduce waste, we will also be educating our whole community on the need t...o be conscious of our long term effect on the world around us.
