25.01.2022 Even on a dreary day I had to visit the Tuncurry Rock Pool and Breakwall There is even a parking area for long vehicles Tuncurry, NSW. #tuncurry #tuncurryrockpool #breakwall

24.01.2022 Cooyar Swinging Bridge Park, lovely large camping area. There are some power boxes; pay for power at the Cooyar Hotel. Unpowered free but why not have a drink or feed at the Cooyar Hotel or the popular McCoy's Cafe down the road. McCoy's is a must do if you are a motorcycle fan #cooyarhotel #mccoyscafe

24.01.2022 Don't you just love progress A new car park has been put in at Fishers Lookout, Bunya Mountains QLD, and we had no where to park in the motorhome Briefly pulled up in the entrance and took these photos. #fisherslookout #bunyamountains

22.01.2022 Dollarbirds are gorgeous. I tried to get a couple of photos of them flying.#dollarbird #oldbar

22.01.2022 The Ruins Campground in Booti Booti National Park NSW, has direct beach access to the stunning Seven Mile Beach. #bootibootinationalpark #sevenmilebeach #theruinscampground #nswparks

21.01.2022 The Palms National Park, 18 km south of Yarraman QLD, is a small, day use only, national park with a lovely picnic area and a 600 meter circuit walk through piccabeen palms. Last time we were here there were lots of bats but not this time. Don't try taking a big rig in here though because we had to squeeze our van through the access road

21.01.2022 Woke up to a few more camping neighbours! #dandabah #bunyamountainsnationalpark

17.01.2022 We dropped into James Norman Hedges Park, Helidon, QLD on our way to NSW because we have fond memories of seeing a large platypus swimming in the Lockyer Creek behind the park. Well that was 30 years ago. This is it now, so sad

17.01.2022 The Western Circuit Walking Track is a Class 3 walk of 4.5 km. The trailhead starts just past the end of Broadwater Camping Area, Sundown National Park, QLD. #westerncircuit #sundownnationalpark

17.01.2022 Set up at The Broadwater Camping Area, southern section of Sundown National Park, QLD. Trying out our new Helinox chairs. #thebroadwatercampground #sundownnationalpark #helinox #horizonmotorhomes #sprinter4x4

17.01.2022 The Broadwater Camping Area in the southern section of Sundown National Park, QLD. The campsites in the main section of the campground are defined with low fences and the road in is narrow so the campground is only suitable for tents, camper trailers and very small/short caravans as there is limited room to maneuver. Our motorhome is 4WD so it has high ground clearance and the Sprinter also has a tight turning circle so we were fine. There is a donkey shower but the cubicles are closed due to Covid. If you need water, it is best to collect it on the way in near the Ranger Homestead. We were happy to see that The Broadwater section of the Severn River in front of the campground had more water in it than the last time we were here. #thebroadwatercampground #sundownnationalpark

16.01.2022 We combined the Scenic Circuit and the Barker Creek Circuit at Bunya Mountains National Park, QLD. All together this is a pleasant grade 3 walk of about 12 or 13 km. #sceniccircuit #bunyamountainsnationalpark #barkercreekcircuit

15.01.2022 We were running late, then we got caught in a massive traffic jam due to an accident blocking the highway. After a long detour we needed a place to stay the night. Being a bit desperate due to the late hour we pulled into Albert Theaker Park next to Willowbank Raceway, QLD. We were expecting the place to be crowded and noisy but were pleasantly surprised to find that there was plenty of room and the ground was very flat. Sure, it's close to a busy road but that doesn't bother us. It is free after all. We had a great nights sleep and were able to head off to Sundown National Park in the morning. #albertheakerpark #freecamp

14.01.2022 Mudbishops Point, Old Bar, NSW. #mudbishopspoint #oldbar #birdinglocation

14.01.2022 Flat Rock in East Ballina NSW is an unassuming low rock shelf that is a resting place for birds, including many migratory seabirds that have traveled great distances. #flatrock #migratorybirds #shorebirds

14.01.2022 For those who appreciate a short walk the Permanent Waterhole Track is only 2 km return. We were pleased to see beautiful rusty red Swamp Wallabies along the walk. Permanent Waterhole, Sundown National Park, QLD. #permanentwaterhole #sundownnationalpark

12.01.2022 We usually stay at Flat Rock Tent Park when visiting Ballina NSW. You can camp there in a tent, camper trailer, campervan or small to medium motorhome but their regulations prohibit caravans. #flatrock #flatrocktentpark #ballina

10.01.2022 You don't have to go far to see wildlife in Bunya Mountains National Park, QLD. These photos were all taken in Dandabah Camping Area #dandabahcampground #bunyamountainsnationalpark

09.01.2022 We walked from Dandabah Camping Area to Westcott Camping Area and back the same way. An easy Class 3 walk of about 12 .5 kilometers. #bunyamountainsnationalpark #westcottcampground #dandabahcampground

08.01.2022 Br prepared for queues at the Blackbutt Wood-Fired Bakehouse. It is deservedly popular and my number one favourite. Their delicious goodies can be found in the main street of Blackbutt between Kilcoy and Yarraman, QLD. #numberonebakery #blackbuttbakery #blackbutwoodfiredbakehouse #blackbutt

08.01.2022 The road into the southern section of Sundown National Park QLD, was rougher than we have encountered before but fine for our high rise Sprinter. #sprinter4x4 #horizonmotorhomes #sundownnationalpark

08.01.2022 We went looking for platypus but the creek was so dry that Fairy-wrens were walking on the creek bed: Swinging Bridge Park, Cooyar, QLD. #swingingbridge #cooyar

07.01.2022 Crooked Creek Picnic Area and Campground, Girard State Forest, NSW. Off the Bruxner HWY, between Tabulam and Tenterfield. Camping, dogs, horses and hunting allowed. Fires allowed subject to restrictions. Non-flush toilet and picnic tables. Free overnight or short stay. #crookedcreekcampground #girardstateforest #freecamp

05.01.2022 Campground Report for Downfall Creek Camping Area, Danbulla National Park, Atherton Tablelands, QLD: http://nationalparkodyssey.blogspot.com//downfall-creek-ca

05.01.2022 Didn't see the Barn Owls this trip but still plenty of Brush-tailed Possums at night. #cooyarswingingbridge

03.01.2022 The Ruins Campground, Booti Booti National Park, NSW. We arrived midday Sunday and there was a rave party going on, (Covid nah). Nice friendly vibe but a bit too crowded for our liking however, they all left mid afternoon. Moral of the story: if you like a good beach party go on the weekend. If you like a quiet campground, go during the week. #bootibootinationalpark #theruinscampground

02.01.2022 Childers, QLD has two 20 hour RV Free Camps in Crescent Street. This one is sealed and has a dump point. The grassy one can just be seen in the background. Excellent place to park while seeing the Military Museum and the Old Pharmacy Museum. #childers #freecamp

02.01.2022 It is one year since we bought our 4WD Sprinter Motorhome from Horizon Motorhomes so we had it all checked out while we were in Ballina. We had a quick look at the latest décor while we were at the Service Centre. #horizonmotorhomes

02.01.2022 The Bunya Bunya Walking Track is only 500 meters long but there is plenty to see #bunyabunyatrack #dandabahcampground #bunyamountainsnationalpark

01.01.2022 The JA Gorton Oval is a free camping area in Maidenwell, QLD. Since Covid we have been using our own onboard toilet and shower so we appreciate these camping areas that have dump points. There are toilets, paid hot showers, an excellent picnic shelter and playground. The friendly Maidenwell Hotel is next door and the popular Trading Post is just across the road. Coomba Falls is just down the road. #maidenwell #jagortonoval #freecamp
