16.01.2022 MAKING A NEST: At this stormy time of year, it is common for baby birds/chicks to get blown from their nest. Here is a great little method of reuniting them with their parents if you should find a fallen baby: 1. Put holes in bottom of a bucket (so bucket can drain if it rains) 2. Layer the bottom of the bucket with leaf litter 3. Put a stick in the bucket which reaches top to bottom so parents can access their bub.... 4. Place chick carefully in his new nest 5.Hang from a tree as close as possible to where you found the chick and high enough to avoid cats etc GREAT News - parents should find and continue to care for their little darling!! 12.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? Australia has a rich and unique reptile fauna with over 90% of them found nowhere else in the world. Sadly, the majority of Australias reptiles are declining in numbers, with one in four of Australias 850 reptile species in significant decline. Reptile species at the greatest risk of extinction are those whose declines are driven largely by clearing of native vegetation and the consequent fragmentation of their populations.
