24.01.2022 Interested in learning about some of our native rainforest plants then check out this and more videos on the Brush Turkey Enterprises channel on YouTube.

21.01.2022 Amazing Argyrodendron species ‘Kin Kin’. This first picture is the seedling germinating in its own bubble of protective gel, that appears when the seed are wetted. Both A. Kin Kin and A. actinophyllum produce rather impressive gel bubbles which I would suggest is an adaptation to the potentially drier environments they can grow in. Just like the synthetic water crystals (but better) used in plantings, they create a pocket of moisture around the seedling for many days or even a week or so after rain has fallen, giving these fleshy little seedlings a chance to get into the soil.

18.01.2022 Some meetings are restarting across Queensland, and you can download the latest calendar on the front page of our website: http://npq.org.au under 'What's On' Speaking of our website, it's undergoing an update over the next month or so. We'll let you know as new features come online.

17.01.2022 This just came through from Ross Pedley, ( Plants by Ross) re Garden City Plastics. thought some NPQ people may buy from them. "Hi Everyone. I have just found out that Garden City Plastics no longer deals with the public BUT I have found a young lady who is a distributor for them. Her name is Selina ph 0413148388. She will sell you any quantity you want (pots, perlite etc). Of course, the more you buy the cheaper it is per unit. With a week or so notice she can have anything ...(except chemicals) from GSP catalouge in stock for you. Business name is PDT Traders. Address 32 Sherwood Road. Ring first as she is still in the process of moving in so she isn't always there. Parking is tight but I managed to get my dual cab in! Hopefully this is of use to some of you. I would confidently expect that she is cheaper than retail outlets. Selina's prices won't be much different from GCP. Don't worry, I wasn't happy when I found out this morning. Full story about GCP is you must now have an NBN and place a $1000 minimum order." See more
