15.01.2022 This is one of my favourite reads each quarter (4 per year). From Native Plants Queensland https://www.npq.org.au/ well worth becoming a member of NPQ for the newsletter alone, and then there’s there benefits of flora ID walls with groups like ours!

13.01.2022 Amazing Argyrodendron species ‘Kin Kin’. This first picture is the seedling germinating in its own bubble of protective gel, that appears when the seed are wetted. Both A. Kin Kin and A. actinophyllum produce rather impressive gel bubbles which I would suggest is an adaptation to the potentially drier environments they can grow in. Just like the synthetic water crystals (but better) used in plantings, they create a pocket of moisture around the seedling for many days or even a week or so after rain has fallen, giving these fleshy little seedlings a chance to get into the soil.

10.01.2022 Here's a link to some fantastic resources created for the Sunshine Coast Kids in Action program (coordinated by Brush Turkey Enterprises). The video resources, from a range of presenters, explore this year's "We are Botanica" theme and are free and accessible to everyone. Please watch the Welcome to Country for your area to begin your journey. There will be more videos dropped into the program over the next 4 weeks - so be sure to return.
