18.01.2022 4 WEEKS // If we base industry recovery on the comeback from Lockdown 3.0 (seriously- never felt so ripped off living in Victoria) - we should be back to Covid normal weddings in four weeks. This was echoed by leading epidemiologists yesterday also. . So, we bunker down during this shit arse weather ready for the drop on the other side. Again. Get us back to work pleaaase. This lockdown has triggered PTSD like symptoms in a lot of vendors. . The winter weather has compounded... the flashbacks of long, depressing, interminable months of being stuck at home, unable to work with crappy self worth and endless emails and calls re postponements. . I’ve been pretty positive through the last 15 months but yesterday I just bottomed out and felt so defeated. . But I’m back on deck today. Dragging myself through the last day of homeschooling. A year later than planned and the race to the finish line was fraught with stress as Sydney kicked off with covid cases and then we got one here. They were on tenterhooks as to whether they’d be able to fly into Melbs for their wedding at @mitcheltonweddings. . 03.01.2022 HOME // If only it made me feel like the @lcdsoundsystem track. So weird flying out of total normality into a lockdown. Wahhhh. . We had an amazing three weeks destressing and reconnecting, eating out, swimming, walking miles and waking to the sound of the ocean daily. . This lockdown is a pain in the ass, no doubt. Number three for us, short as it’s intended to be. It’s such a kick in the guts for our industry once again. ... . Try not to let it shake your confidence. We were smashing it and we will again. These short sharp lockdowns are going to periodically be our future until at least Sept IMO but I don’t believe the lengthy arduous lockdown of 2020 will ever be imposed on us again. . (Wouldn’t mind seeing hotel quarantine pushed at least 30 minutes out of the city like the NT though. FIFO worker sitch etc. Seems reasonable right?). . Cmonnn Vic- order some really good takeaway from a local restaurant this weekend and go for a wander. Slow it down again. And wash your masks.
