When it's built, it may look like a 3 yr old designed it, but hopefully it'll atleast include everything . Today I'm going to the Perth Zoo with my little family. It will be the first time my daughter has been there since she was 1yr old, so it's sure to be a great day. I'll share some cute fluffy zoo animal pics to my stories later. 24.01.2022 Which books are on your Christmas wish list this year? I may or may not have ordered a copy of 'The Lives of Saints' by Leigh Bardugo, as a gift to myself from the 'family.' I'm also hoping Santa decides to bring me a few other books and a stash of lush products. My skin seems to finally be settling down after a tone of cortisone cream treatment and I am ready to try a bath bomb again. I'll just be abit more particular about which brands I do and do not use from now on. Ai...n't no one got time for allergic or contact dermatitis. Today I'm hoping to smash out some more words for The Goddess of Blood and Bone. I'm loving the dark, twisted, naughty, mythological vibe this book has. It's taking me longer than expected to write but slowly it's coming together. Some of my favourite authors have pushed back their publication dates for the sake of making their work the best it can be. That has empowered me to feel confident in my decision to do the same. This book is some of the best writing I have done and if it takes a little longer to publish that's 100% okay. I promise it will be worth the wait. This book is one you will want to sink your teeth into. 22.01.2022 Hi everyone! Sorry I have been pretty MIA over the last week or so. It was my daughters birthday last week and then this week we moved house out to the country. I am no longer a Perth girl. It's been a busy week with sadly not alot of spare time for editing, but on Monday I'll be diving back into my editing cave, getting the final stages of 'The Goddess of Blood and Bone' completed. 22.01.2022 What does your perfect reading spot look like? I'm loving all the cosy Christmas feels in this day bed reading spot. I love reading in bed, on the lounge wrapped up in layers of blankets, or while in the bath. Today I've got to head out and post a book order then find some motivation to write some more. I'm not feeling 100% and I didn't sleep well last night, so the temptation to stay in bed and binge netflix all day is very real. ... I started a re-read of Assassins Blade yesterday (a massive commitment I know). I finished a re-read of KOA recently and it's made me crave diving back into that familiar world with characters I already know so well and love.
22.01.2022 When was the last time you tried something for the first time? Yesterday I took my daughter on her first ever horse trail ride for her 10th Birthday and she loved it! The Crowning was the first book I ever wrote, but since it was initially published it has had a full re-write and make-over. One of the perks of being an Indie is that I can do that ... This year I want to challenge myself to do try new things. In August I will be officially releasing my first Adult Fantasy/Mythology novel and I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of it. 21.01.2022 Do you write in a journal? When I was a teenager I used to. It was full of all kinds of angst and drama lol. These days I love the idea of journally but I just don't have the time. I am one of those writers who loves to collect journals, diaries, note books ect in the hopes of being organised but in reality my writing style and life are an unorganised hot mess But hey... whatever works right?!. ... On a side note, isn't this guided journal by Leigh Bardugo stunning?! It is a writers dream - full of inspirational creative writing prompts. I have used it a couple of times but not nearly as much as I should have. I need to make a mental note to do it more often. 19.01.2022 How far have you gone for your craft? *Behind the scenes post* It's a tough question today. Many jobs have set hours or requirements for a job. As an artist or author you can put as little or as much into your craft as you choose. ... People often ask me how I manage to publish books so frequently and the short answer to that is: 'hard work.' Last night I was up until 2am working on a book that needed to be sent to a friend for a final proof read to meet my self-imposed publication deadline. Covid has made it hard to feel focussed and creative, but I have finally found my groove again and am well and truly back in the swing of things! The next week is going to be massive for me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

17.01.2022 Welcome to the bush! Are you more of a city person or a country person? My family and I are like gypsies, moving from one adventure to the next. Last week we moved out to a little country town. ... We're not far out of Perth, so we don't have to travel far for all the comforts of the city but we are far out enough that I wake up to the sounds of the cows and the birds, and the view of the bush straight out my bedroom window. Yesterday I went for a long walk from our little town to the next along a heritage trail. It was so peaceful . This week I plan to knuckle down and get cracking on my editing. Hopefully my escape artist doggo stays in his yard long enough for me to do so . I'll be sending out my monthly newsletter this Friday and rather than a prequel short story, I will include an uncorrected excerpt from my new book. 15.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! So far I have managed to recover 3 soggy towels from my daughters bedroom, including one IN her chest of drawers . I have also filled a bag with rubbish, just from the stuff I found in that dark abyss beneath her bed. I now know why the monsters like to hide there - its a scary place Three loads of washing later thanks to all the clothes discovered under the bed ... All of this for the joy of recovering her swimming goggles and thongs because sch...ool swimming starts today. But anyway... 12.01.2022 Hey book lovers! Which genre do you prefer? Sorry I have been fairly quiet on social media lately. I have been busy in my writing and editing cave. This Nevernight inspired mug seemed appropriate, given what I was just working on .... I'll be a tease and let you know that today's writing spice level was off the charts . Jayse on IG requested abs and I have delivered . I can't believe I ever struggled with writing a kissing scene. And now... well, let's just say that kissing is an after thought, considering how hot and steamy my characters got today .
12.01.2022 It's Friday! What is one of your most anticipated reads that you haven't got a chance to read yet? I am really looking forward to reading A Wind From the Rift, by Bonnie Wynne from Talem Press I loved Book 1 of the series and rated it , so I have high expectations of the sequel. ... As some of you may know, my hubby and I are currently planning our new house that will be built this year. It turns out I missed a whole heap of things that I am meant to have already picked out. In all honesty, I basically missed everything but the tiles ... A little bit of a blonde moment... So today I'll be doing the rounds looking at everything from bricks to carpet to cornicing... And somehow during that time I'm also going to clean the house. But tonight: (drum roll please) I get to catch up with two of my favourite bookstagrammers for dinner! 09.01.2022 The End. I still can't believe I finally got there. The Goddess of Blood & Bone, was a monster I was probably not ready to tackle, but I did it anyway! It took me alot longer than expected to finish this Adult Dark Fantasy book, but all good things take time. I wrote steamy scenes that I did not even think possible but emerged effortlessly which surprised me. It felt so natural to write those words, that I don't know how I could ever go back to the confines of YA. That's no...t to say I wouldn't. Never say never. As I write this I still feel reminiscent of my old fantasy world of Alearia. I miss my old wholesome characters and I miss the sibling banter. The Goddess of Blood and Bone is not wholesome. It doesn't offer the promise of a better world like my first trilogy did. It simply is what it is. This book has you rooting for the enemy and then questioning your choices. It is a book free of the confines of morals. It is a book about what could happen if we perhaps shed our skins and embraced our deep down wicked thoughts and desires. This book is not me. I have not embedded myself within the pages as I did within The Crowning series. This book has none of those wholesome qualities. It is a book based on flawed made-up Deities and their mythological creatures. Readers might love it or they might hate it. The not knowing makes me incredibly nervous. I hope that no matter what people think about it, that they can still see the work that has gone into it. I hope that the world building and characters blow them away. I hope they can see past the dramatic ending and see the possibilities that lay in the sequel. This duology has a full circle vision. Book 1 is: Light to dark. What would you like to know most about my upcoming book?

08.01.2022 What is your favourite fairy tale? I don't know if it counts as a 'fairy tale' but I love Alice in Wonderland. I especially love the twisted origins behind the original story. Isn't is amazing how many stories and nursery rhymes came from dark origins.... How gorgeous is this graphic novel by the incredibly talented Neil Gaiman? But just a warning for the younger readers, this is definitely not a children's book.
