23.01.2022 The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre’ has been delivering the COVID-19 Remote Rapid Response Team Training to support the surge remote health workforce in the Northern Territory. More than 100 participants have taken part in the training which includes providing additional skills and knowledge of COVID-19 management and quarantine principles. Pictured are the teams in Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Darwin who have completed the training.

21.01.2022 Introducing Allan Anderson! Allan is the Director of Telehealth servicing the Howard Springs International Quarantine Facility for NCCTRC. This year Allan has been involved in a number of deployments supporting in the COVID-19 response across Australia, including:... Howard Springs International Quarantine Facility for Australian Repatriation Western Australia Artania cruise ship quarantine and Novotel hotel quarantine Victoria Aged Care Response "When deployed my role is often as the AUSMAT Operations Manager in the field, which is a challenging, but a rewarding role. Being deployed and being away from home is part of the position, since last year I have been deployed four times in response to COVID-19. My family is very supportive and are proud of the work I do," Allan says. "Helping others is something close to my heart and working with AUSMAT professionals in the field is both an honour and privilege." Thank you Allan for your amazing work and commitment!

20.01.2022 Here’s a short video explaining the step-by-step procedure for Donning Personal Protection Equipment in an infection control environment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DONNING PPE - The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be necessary for health personnel when providing care for suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. The level of PPE will be determined by the patient's risk level and your healthcare policy.

20.01.2022 Welcome to the Northern Territory! The NCCTRC in collaboration with NT Health and ADF, provided the COVID-19 screening for all 189 US Navy and Marine personnel arriving into Darwin on Tuesday this week. The unusual welcome to Australia was met with good humour by all the arrivals, who are keen to follow Australian procedure to ensure they keep our community safe. The execution and joint plan was a success with all personnel swabbed within 2 hours in a safe environment. For the next 14 days the marines are now quarantined in the facility set up on the base. All the arrivals from Tuesday have tested negative for COVID-19 on entry into quarantine. The NCCTRC team will continue to assist with quarantine entry and exit swabbing of the next tranche of arrivals.

18.01.2022 HAPPY DIWALI On Saturday 14 November, the cohort of repatriated Australians from India started celebrating the Diwali Festival in quarantine at the Centre for National Resilience at Howard Springs. The Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated over five days. The Telehealth team put together a bag of different activities, decorations, stickers and tea lights to help celebrate Diwali in quarantine.

Grad Cert in Aeromedical Retrieval commencing in Semester 1 on March 1st 2021 at Charles Darwin University. The course is completely online from your home country while continuing to work. Application criteria include English language competency and for those interested in applying, CDU includes Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga and PNG on the extended list for Engli...sh speaking countries requiring only written confirmation that the medium language of instruction for undergraduate degree was English. There are a number of ways to remove PPE safely without contamination. The method used will be determined by your... type of PPE and your local health policy. Always remember, no matter which method used, be consistent, take your time and do not be distracted, as doffing of PPE poses the greatest risk for exposure and contamination from infectious particles. This video uses the doffing sequence as recommended by the Australian Department of Health. See more
