20.01.2022 This is something that I have used in many herbal tonic concoctions. Such a beautiful herb to use with soo many benefits. Studies have confirmed that pomegranate peel is effective against a range of pathogens that infect the human gut, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella pneumonia, Candida albicans and Giardia lamblia. Importantly, pomegranate peel does not harm beneficial gut bacteria, and actually stimulates the growth of beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species.

01.01.2022 New Year Resolutions for 2020! It seems there can be an endless list at times. However, these 3 will definitely be my priority for a Happier and HEALTHIER 2020. Less SCREEN time, more GREEN time! Many studies suggest that less time in front of screen and more exposure to natural environments (e.g. parks and beaches) is linked with better health and wellbeing.... Spending too much time in front of screen (i.e. laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc) is associated with a variety of health harms including obesity, depressive symptoms and poor quality of life. Less screen time was found to be far better for overall mental and physical health. Eating more fruits and vegetables improves physiological and psychological health. A variety of Phytonutrients, Vitamins and Minerals can be found when eating different coloured vegetables and fruit, commonly known as the Rainbow diet (e.g. orange/beta-carotene, green/chlorophyll). Simply put more variety in colour in vegetables and fruit, more variety o nutrients, better health and wellness. Finally, make sleep a priority in 2020! Studies have shown that lack of sleep and poor quality sleep are both associated with increased risk of diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, depression, and osteoporosis. High quality sleep for at least 7 hours per night improves happiness, positive feelings, vitality, energy, and life satisfaction. Unfortunately, the opposite proves true, mood and mental wellbeing will be negatively affected due to lack of sleep. What are your New Year Resolutions?
