25.01.2022 HYALURONIC ACID It’s been a long time since we posted, but we assure we have been busy developing some exciting new products, which are now released. The other day we passed a Body Shop store and noticed that they were promoting their products, which contain Hyaluronic Acid as the latest essential ingredient for skin care. ... WE CERTAINLY AGREE. We have been formulating with Hyaluronic Acid since we began production. Just to refresh your memory, Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in our bodies, and is found in joints, cartilage, and even in our eyes. It holds 600-800 times its weight in water, and is valuable for cushioning our joints, acts as a lubricant, and helps keep our eyes and skin well hydrated. The production of Hyaluronic Acid decreases with age. Hyaluronic Acid, or Sodium Hyaluronan was first produced from rooster’s combs and chicken breast sternal cartilage. More recently, Hyaluronic Acid is produced by a laboratory bio- fermentation process of wheat or maize. Ours is maize (gluten free). Its initial use was in eye surgery, then injected into arthritic hip and knee joints at around $500.00 per injection. Now it is widely being used for cosmetics because it really helps hydrate and plump our tired and dry skin due to the water bond of the molecule.
