24.01.2022 The Healing Art of Aromatherapy Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to maintain & promote physical, psychological & spiritual well being. Essential oils are natural extracts taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, or blossoms of plants. The essential oil is usually captured by steam distillation, expression and other extraction techniques. The different aromas & chemical constituents of the oils can produce different emotional and physiological reactions. In times of stres...s or mental fatigue rejuvenating essential oils can help remove emotional stress and leave you feeling mentally invigorated. Essential oils can be used for massage, added to bath water or vaporised in an oil burner. Some tips on using essential oils: To relieve stress add 3-4 drops of rose geranium essential oil to an oil vaporizer. For a natural room spray add 4 drops of sweet orange oil, 4 drops lemon & 4 drops of eucalyptus to 50 ml purified water in a spray bottle. To use as a body massage for aching muscles add 1 drop of peppermint oil, 2 drops sweet marjoram & 1 drop spike lavender oil to 10 ml of carrier oil. Caution needs to be used when purchasing essential oils dont be confused with fragrance oils which can be dangerous if not used correctly. Essential oils should always state that they are 100% pure. 04.01.2022 CELEBRATING moving to Australia 10 years ago today. Wow what a journey the last ten years have been. The decision to move to Australia was exciting but oh so scary the thought of leaving my family and friends took so much courage. The year previous to moving here my brother John died at the hands of others, needless to say it changed my life. My family was left with so much pain, anger and many unanswered questions surrounding Johns death. When I arrived in Australia I was s...uffering with depression, panic attacks, sleeping issues and so much more. And so my healing journey began I wont lie it has not been easy. It has been extremely painful to deal with all the emotions that I had suppressed and wanted to keep stuffed down. Ive spend the last ten years trying so many different therapies, studying and working on myself. Today I feel like I have come full circle, my life is completely changed and I can say that I am healthy happy and I love my life. Today I got to spend the day with two beautiful souls in the gorgeous Tambourine Mountains. We were finalising all the little details for our first upcoming retreat on the 12th of this month. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would study to become an Aromatherapist and Biofield Tuning practitioner. Oh what a journey it has been, thank you all for being a part of my journey with so much love and support. I am truly blessed xxx
