19.01.2022 This year we have 3 KID FRIENDLY classes. These sessions are there to create a space for parents that would otherwise not be able to come because they still have children at home. Children are welcome to bring their own toys and play in reception which is adjacent and in full view of the studio. New bubs are also welcome in these classes and can stay right next to Mum or Dad during the session.

17.01.2022 Do you treat your body like your car? So your car is making that funny noise again. Its now getting worse and you know the longer you leave the worse AND more expensive its going to get. We do this with our bodies too but how often do we put it on the back burner? All too often we are more likely to get our car fixed than investigate that niggle we have had, lets face it, for years. We service our cars regularly to keep them running smoothly and last longer, so we should our bodies.

This is such an exciting time but I bet your body feels different, its been through a lot; 9 months of pregnancy (a marathon) and then birth (an intense sprint although it might have felt like a marathon too). Whether you had a natural birth or a cesarean Pilates is here for you. Pilates can help restore your pelvic floor and core strength, and youre not just a mum so I imagine you have other wellness and fitness goals we can help with those too. Its important to remember looking after you is looking after your family and just because youve given birth it doesnt mean you have to resign yourself to a different body. Your body has the potential to be just as strong and healthy as before pregnancy.

Your body, just like a tent needs to have the right amount of tension on all the ropes (muscles) to create space as well as structural integrity to be able to do its job. Using strength and release exercises, Pilates is about restoring balance throughout your muscles to create healthy structure and movement patterns. Whether you feel like youre in peak condition or you have an acute injury, restoring balance coupled with strength will enhance your bodys ability to fulfil its potential.

10.01.2022 Benefit No.1 of Pilates Online... Doing Pilates online teaches us to do what we should be doing anyway; learning to tune into our body and what its feeling. Its so easy for us to rely on our Pilates instructor; to put their hands on our shoulders to remind us to relax them, to give us "that look" to remind us to turn our core on. BUT what happens the 6 days and 23hrs they arent with us each week? Whilst your instructor is still with you online, its an opportunity to start getting to know your body better, get aquatinted with its nuances, good and bad, so when youre out in the world without your instructor you can remind your body of all the awesome things your body should be doing in that moment.

08.01.2022 FAQ 6: Do you have Reformer classes? A: Yes! but with a twist. We use reformers in our 4:1 Studio Sessions. In these sessions there are a maximum of 4 people to 1 instructor and each person is guided through their PERSONALISED TAILORED program designed for their body and goals. As well as the Reformers we use the Wunda Chair, Mat Work and other small apparatus. Each session varies so you get variety and the most appropriate exercises to achieve your desired goals.

07.01.2022 This year NNP is proud to have 2 amazing student instructors...Meet Sonia! Sonia McMullen, PT, DPT Sonia has her Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy (DPT) in and worked in a hospital rehabilitation setting in Chicago for three years. After meeting an Aussie from Wagga , true love beckoned, and she emigrated to Australia.... From 2011-2013 she worked in private practice at, and in 2013 she took a position at Wagga Base Hospital where she is currently one of the Senior Physiotherapists in the Rehabilitation department. She is passionate about helping clients through neurological, vestibular, and amputee rehabilitation. Sonia has participated in extensive post-grad training in Physiotherapy, including movement and gait analysis, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports injury recovery, neurological, vestibular, and amputee rehabilitation, balance and falls prevention, functional anatomy, and rehabilitation intensity training. In 2020, she is looking forward to completing further training in vestibular rehabilitation. Having trained as a gymnast as a youth, and as an active triathlete, cyclist, runner, rower, and yoga enthusiast into her twenties, she has always been passionate about human movement, which led to her interest in a physiotherapy career. In her early thirties, however, multiple surgeries, injuries and chronic pain limited her ability to participate in sport, and she discovered the benefits of Pilates to rehabilitate both her body and her spirit. Pilates has also helped to maintain function through all three of her pregnancies in close succession, to recover after a complicated pregnancy requiring bedrest, and three Caesarean sections. In regard to Pilates Rehabilitation, she has a special interest in pre- and post-natal care, movement problems related to ageing, balance and falls prevention, and neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinsons, and stroke. In February 2020 Sonia starts her Pilates Rehab Teacher Training course with Polestar. What she loves most about Pilates and what she is excited to instil in her future clients is that Pilates is an incredibly healing method of returning to yourself post injury, managing chronic pain and disease, and is a safe and healthy path to returning to the things you love. Sonia is grateful and thankful to Kara and her clients at Naturally Norris Pilates for the opportunity to learn.

Maybe youre not as fit as you think you should be, maybe you have an injury that just seems to continually inhibit you from exercising, maybe youve just resigned yourself to "this is as good as it gets".
