24.01.2022 Who wants to eat French toast, and Look after their health and waist all at once? Usually those sentences don’t go together at all - but this time it does. Paleo Sugar Free French toast for the tribe this morning. Rich in protein and good quality fats. For the bread I used @chefpeteevans paleo pumpkin bread. ... Custard: 1cup unsweetened almond milk (I used @almomilk ) 2 tablespoons organic coconut cream 3 whole free range eggs plus one yolk 1 tablespoon Maca Smoothie Powder (50% maca root, 50% raw cacao) 1 teaspoon Vanilla bean powder ( you could use the liquid if you like) Whisk it into custard consistency and bathe the bread. Cook in sandwich press (no additional fat needed cooking it this way, and it’s EASY and QUICK!) Slice some strawberries, mix in a bowl with fresh basil and balsamic (you could add a Squeeze of honey - but I don’t like to add sugar at all) Mix the berries until macerated Place your toast on your plate and top with your basil strawberries - top with nutrient packed SEEDS! They’re a nutrition powerhouse! Today I used Hemp Seed, Salted Pepitas and the famous goji berries. Sprinkled on top is actually a cut open pro biotic capsule. The kids can’t swallow them so you gotta get creative. The paleo bread is made with vegetables, seeds and nuts. It’s a fantastic way to fill little and big bellies and here’s a fun fact - eating fat SLOWS the emptying of the stomach - so it keeps you fuller for longer. Served with a violet Luna Latte for those medicinal mushrooms Perfect hump day perfection!

21.01.2022 paleo coconut flour vanilla protein cake Ok. So. Admittedly I’m a huge Vanilla fan. Like HUGE. Andddd since I have some Primal Core Australia protein powder staring at me every time I open the pantry - I got really excited about a cake that’s super healthy, heals the gut lining AND tastes like vanilla! Ingredients: ... 2 scoops @primalcoreaustralia vanilla collagen booster protein powder 3 eggs 3 egg whites Pinch salt 1 teaspoon honey 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil 1 teaspoon vanilla powder or extract .5 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup coconut flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1/4 cup plant milk (I used AO LIKE MILK which is pure pea protein to make this cake even higher in protein) Seriously - how easy is this? - put it all in a blender - blend. Pour into a greased and lined cake tin. Bake at 160 degrees for half hour or until golden brown! I added raspberries because, well, raspberries and vanilla are life... but you don’t have too. With 6 egg whites, collagen and pea protein, this cake is high protein and moderate fat, and low carb. Yes - #lowcarb even with the honey. It’s only a teaspoon and u can omit if you don’t want it in to make it #paleo #keto I’ve used other protein powders in cooking before and a lot are really thick - the @primalcoreaustralia protein dissolves really well so it’s what I’d recommend. Rob started working with me to get a handle on the symptoms of his Ankylosing Spondylitis. After being diagnosed when he was 16, Rob has experienced pain almost every day, to the point of making him unable to Ride his Bike, Run, Walk and was even so severe, that he was unable to even really play with his kids. ... Imagine walking from the car to your front door being an exhausting, and extremely painful task. That was Rob. Through manipulating his diet, working on removing inflammation and rebuilding the gap junctions of his epithelial lining in his gut, focusing on mental attitude, meditation, stress reduction and chemical and toxin exposure - Not only is rob able to walk from the car to the house, he is back to Camping, Riding his bike twice a week, going on hikes and playing with his kids - finally being able to the be the dad he has always wanted to be. If it were just what we eat that impacted our health - then we wouldn't find it SO HARD to stay on the wagon and continue to eat health promoting foods. In your personal journey of healing, understanding how the emotional being and physical being interact is impera...tive to the continued success of you reclaiming your health. There is more and more emerging information surrounding how your childhood impacts your health in adult years. For all of you interested in learning how to connect your trauma to your health, I highly recommend looking up and researching Christiane Northrup and her astounding work in Holistic Medicine. For those of you who feel like you're 'fighting' addiction, whether its Food, Cigarettes, alcohol etc you need to understand that; Addictions aren't the problem, they are the SOLUTION to the problem of unresolved pain. Working with a counsellor, acupuncturist and doing Yoga - along with changing your diet to a more healthful way of eating - will go a long way to assisting in removing the trauma that builds up as Dense Fascia tissue throughout the body. Issues with Abandonment, Betrayal and Shame - if left unresolved, all produce small amounts of inflammatory chemicals in the body that favour disease and addiction. Chronic Systemic Inflammation is at the root of all disease, and now we know one of the leading causes of systemic cellular inflammation is unprocessed Trauma building up in Dense Fascia Tissue. And while Western Medicine has come a long way in assisting in prevention through understanding what genes are at play in cases of breast cancer, we still need to delve deeper into prevention methods. After all, we can carry a gene, but it is gene expression which is the issue and gene expression can be caused by a number of things. ... The human body requires 12.5 mg of Iodine daily for optimal function. It's fair to say that unless you are eating adequate Sea Vegetables or Organic and Pasture raised eggs, that you most likely aren't getting enough. The Breasts alone require 3mg of Iodine every day to remain healthy! If you're a woman (or man for that matter!) that experiences breast tenderness (related to PMS & also not), breast cysts, lumpy breasts and pain etc, then increasing iodine rich foods in your diet will go a long way to improving your breast health. But it isn't only Iodine we need to look at for breast health. Having optimal Vitamin D levels (between 40 and 80 ng/ml of vitamin D - but even better between 60 and 80 ng/ml) REDUCES THE RISK OF BREAST CANCER BY 50% according to Dr Christiane Northrup - Womens Health Expert and OBGYN It's important to note here especially that 42% of the population is vitamin D Deficient. Is it any wonder there is such an increase in Breast Cancer cases when we look at those statistics? What can you do? Make sure you are up to date with your Bi Yearly Health screening including getting all relevant vitamins and minerals tested to check for any deficiencies. GET OUTSIDE and enjoy that sunshine! Natural Sunscreen is important for skin cancer prevention, but it is equally important to have at least half an hour to an hour of sunscreen free time for maximum absorption (obviously play this by ear with the UV rating of the day) In cooler months make sure you are optimising your diet for Vitamin D, and take a supplement when needed Start researching foods good for breast health! and I invite you to start experimenting with beautiful iodine rich foods. remember: Prevention is better than cure, and prevention lays in YOUR hands. Just because you have a gene, it takes an external factor to mutate that gene - and that can heavily be influenced by diet and lifestyle management. You gotta beat those eggs like they owe you money who needs a gym when you can forgo the electric mixer and use that old fashioned elbow grease. Movement (more so than exercise) Is SO important in weight management and for general health! All of these kitchen gadgets are great - but they make us very lazy and not expend energy like we used too. ... Your NEAT (non exercise active thermogenesis - ie calories burnt from movement, not exercise) makes up 30% of your daily caloric output - whereas your Exercise only accounts for 10% so if you can’t work out - JUST KEEP MOVING! Mow the lawn (ladies u too! U can’t be a qween if u don’t help your king) re organise that pantry, move the furniture around and clean under everything, address all the things at home that usually stress u out because you’re so busy all the time when not in isolation.

01.01.2022 RECIPE NOSTALGIA COMIN ATCHA! I think one of my favourite foods as a child was a jaffle (apart from scalding my mouth from the boiling hot lava cheese mountain inside - which was all so perfect as well ) and I MISS THEM! After a conversation with a loved one the other day - I decided it’s time to BRING. THEM. BACK. - but of course in a way that doesn’t add 10kg to my ass and hips the moment I take a bite (thanks for the genes fam ) ... So I devote myself for the next how ever long it takes to make as many HEALTHY Jaffle recipes as I can! To start with - Sweet potato, egg, raw sheep’s cheese and hot sauce! 1- grate a qtr onion and place in a bowl. 2- grate one medium sweet potato and add to the bowl 3- add an egg and salt and pepper to the mix, and mush around with your hands (you could use a spoon but I like the idea of being ‘with’ what I’m doing for all you mindfulness buddies - you get me) 4- place a layer of your sweet potato mix on the bottom layer of the jaffle iron 5- crack an egg on each jaffle, letting the sunshine yellow yolk run away to one side 6- grate or shred some organic grass fed sheep’s milk cheese (not too much - remember fat is 9 calories per gram) 7- splash some of your fave hot sauce (or simply drizzle with hot sauce at the end) 8- evenly distribute the rest of the sweet potato mix over the top of the jaffles and close the lid. These need to cook longer than a bread jaffle and that’s important to remember! Depending on how old your jaffle iron is, you may need to grease it prior to adding the sweet potato. This took about 8 minutes to cook Enjoy! It was SUPER tasty! What flavour combos do you love in a jaffle? Let me know and I’ll see if I can make a healthy alternative for you
