24.01.2022 What are you doing to nourish yourself today? Fill in the blank... P.s it doesnt have to involve making bone broth from scratch or running a marathon.. it could just be taking 5 minutes out of your day to do some deep breathing or manifestation
24.01.2022 Sending love to all during these challenging times. Just wanted to let you all know that the team at Naturally You Health are taking Covid-19 very seriously indeed. We always maintain high levels of cleanliness within our clinic and we will be ramping this up now with sanitising desks after each client, limiting physical contact & asking that clients stay home and contact their doctor if presenting with flu like symptoms. Our clinic is still open & we are stocked up with a range of products to best support your immune & nervous systems! We are also offering clients the option of undertaking consultations via the telephone & are happy to deliver your supplements to your front door. I know this is a scary time for all of us. 23.01.2022 Some great tips from Metagenics ANZ
23.01.2022 This is your morning reminder that you have the power to shape the day ahead of you. If something stresses you out, take a few minutes space to deep breathe or remove yourself from the situation. Move your body in a way that you love, your future self with thank you for it. It doesnt have to be full on, tune into your body & go with what feels right. Fuel your body with nourishing foods & fall in love with the practice of looking after yourself. Today I am starting my morning with some gratitude journaling, a big mug of tea & some gentle stretches. What are you including in your day that makes you feel happy?
23.01.2022 Did you know that what you eat during pregnancy can have an influence on your babies taste preferences? Research shows that the flavours in a mothers diet du...ring pregnancy are transmitted to amniotic fluid and swallowed by the fetus. After baby is born certain flavours are also transmitted to infants in the form of breast milk. The findings of this research also showed that early flavour experiences impact on later food enjoyment & acceptability of those flavours in foods! Therefore the take home message here is if you want your baby to be less picky then fill your plate with a variety of different flavours during pregnancy. This diversity will not only help them to accept a wide range of foods but it will also be beneficial for your health & that of your microbiome. See more

17.01.2022 Wow turns out its world bee day! How fitting for our last post! Check out ways you can help & also gain a beautiful garden
17.01.2022 Such a beautiful sentiment. I dont know about you but through out the throws of this pandemic whilst it has been unsettling I have also witnessed the most beautiful displays of kindness. Now more than ever we all need to strive to be kinder than we feel & to help each other along the way. We are not out of the danger zone & we will never completely go back to normal. How incredible would it be if we carried this kindness through to this next chapter & kept on thinking of o...thers. It doesnt have to be big gestures. Check in on your neighbour, donate unwanted goods to charities, smile at strangers, pop some loose change in the tip jar at your favourite cafes & support the local businesses that you love. All of these things may seem small to us but they have a ripple on effect. We really do rise by lifting others & we will all get through this together. To all of our lovely followers we wish you a great week ahead filled with health & happiness We are so looking forward to getting back in the clinic to see our lovely clients face to face. We are also looking forward to seeing the amazing businesses surrounding us opening up again & supporting them wherever possible
16.01.2022 Hi friends, Apologies for being a bit quiet on here. To be completely honest with all the overwhelm going on in the world we have been concentrating our energies on spending quality time at home with our beautiful families in between work. With this said however we are still here for you and are offering naturopathy, nutrition & fertility services over the phone & can send your supplements to your door (so no need for physical contact). Our nutritionist @angelica_hazel_nutri...tion is also offering 15 minute acute immune consultations for $35 so that you can address your concerns with a trained practitioner & receive holistic nutrition advice and be prescribed practitioner grade supplements if needed. We understand during times of stress it can be second nature to let your health go & binge on junk food. We are not here to judge you or to be the food police, putting you on an unrealistic and restrictive eating plan. We are here to support & guide to make positive achievable changes to benefit your health. We wholeheartedly believe that eating a nutritious diet & including beautiful herbs sets up the foundation for health. If you think this could be what you are in need of please get in touch with us. We are more than happy to answer any questions that you might have & would love to hear from you. Stay safe friends & wishing you all a beautiful day ahead See more

14.01.2022 Did you know that both our Naturopath Lee-Ann & Nutritionist @angelica_hazel_nutrition are members of professional health associations? This means that not only do they both need to hold professional qualifications in their fields but they are also required to maintain a current first aid certificate, a police check or working with childrens check and they also need to complete a certain amount of recognised continued professional education every year. What does this mean ...to you as a client? It means that not only are your practitioners highly trained but they are committed to continually improving their knowledge & skills so they can provide you with the highest standard of care. If you have any questions and would like to have a chat to either Lee-Ann or Angelica-Hazel to determine if they are the right practitioner for you, please reach out. They are more than happy to answer any questions that you might have & want you to feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process Image credit Pinterest

10.01.2022 Do you include honey in your diet? The beneficial effects of honey for human health have long been recognised & research supports that it is an effective nutraceutical. Some of the most investigated properties of honey include its antioxidant activity, its ability to inhibit bacterial pathogens and control viral infections and its role as a prebiotic agent. I recommend opting for locally sourced honey that is raw and unfiltered to ensure that key nutrients arent destroyed... during pasteurisation. My favourite South Australian honey brands include Honey lady, Gilberts Honey, Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey suppliers and also little roadside stands. Last year when I visited Goolwa I stopped past a roadside honey stand that provided an honesty box to place the money & it is was such delicious honey. During tough times we need to stick together & support our local suppliers if we want them to be around in the future. Supporting them plus purchasing products that benefit our health is a win win for all. If you know a local honey supplier that you love please tag them below or alternatively comment with your favourite honey variety Angelica-Hazel, Naturally You Health Nutritionist Photo credit Pinterest See more

09.01.2022 As the weather cools its nice to switch up your meals to warming food options. This concept aligns with the traditional Chinese medicine dietary philosophy & also innately feels good. An easy, inexpensive breakfast option for the autumn/winter time is porridge. Oats are beneficial as they contain fibre, provide important vitamins and minerals and have been associated with heart health benefits. I opt for organic rolled oats & like to add cinnamon, nuts, seeds, (protein po...wder sometimes) and switch up the fruit depending on whats in season. If you are a person that doesnt tolerate oats very well alternatives to try include spelt, quinoa flakes, buckwheat & millet (just to name a few). One of my favourite flavour combinations includes apple, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, walnuts and a dash of maple syrup. What are you having for breakfast? @pinterest See more
09.01.2022 Hi Adelaide friends, how beautiful is this sunny day! Whilst the sun is best known for boosting production of vitamin D there are also many other UVR-mediated effects independent of this pathway. Some other benefits include: -increasing endorphins -assisting in treating skin disorders such a psoriasis -immune suppressive effects through up regulating cytokines and increased activity of T regulatory cells that may help prevent autoimmune diseases ..just to name a few! So whi...lst it is important to remain sun smart we can still benefit from moderate sun exposure, particularly in winter if we live in the southern parts of Australia. During winter as the UV radiations levels are less intense it is recommended that people aim for 2-3 hours of sunlight to the face, arms and hands spread out over a period of a week. So if you have been hard at work inside all day dont forget to step outside for a few moments to appreciate the beauty that is Mother Nature Photo credit: Pinterest

08.01.2022 As skies turn grey & the weather cools there is something so nourishing about a beautiful soup or stew especially when it has the added goodness of bone broth! We stock a range of @nutraorganics products including vegetable, chicken and beef bone broth powders. They are super easy to add to your favourite dinners & an amazing support for your immune system. Visit us in clinic to get your hands on one today
07.01.2022 Did you know that 1 in 6 couples struggle with infertility? So what may seem as a harmless question to you may be a cause of serious pain for the couple. Infe...rtility may be caused by the male, female or a combination of the two. The couple may be experiencing primary or secondary infertility. They may have gone through numerous failed IVF attempts or experienced severe pregnancy complications resulting in a termination or miscarriage. Whatever the reason, it is none of your business. So unless a woman or couple open up the conversation about their fertility, be kind & don’t ask.
07.01.2022 It's World Breastfeeding Week but, better yet, just another reminder of how amazing the human body is. Here's a little more about the different stages of lactation.
07.01.2022 Just a few reasons why we love fresh ginger! Add it into your stir fry, blend it into your juice or even mix it in with your baking. This medicinal ingredient is not to be overlooked!

07.01.2022 Did you know that the Olive Leaf has been used as a health remedy for many centuries, dating back to the Ancient Egyptians? Even the Bible references the use o...f Olive Leaf in medicine the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. So how does that translate into the modern-day? Olive Leaf can be incorporated into your diet as an extract, tea or powder. Even gargling Olive Leaf tea may help to alleviate symptoms of a sore throat, due to its potential to reduce inflammation and viral infectivity. 05.01.2022 Are you trying to increase your vegetable intake? Did you know that adding more veggies to your diet can have a positive impact on your gut as it increases your fibre & helps to support a robust gut microbiome. Do you feel like getting a minimum of 5 serves of vegetables is a bit overwhelming? One good place to start is to include veggies with every meal, including breakfast. This Asian vegetable omelette is a great example of a healthy veggie rich breakfast that is high in protein & will help set you up for the day ahead

04.01.2022 Wanting to avoid harmful pesticides on your food? Have you thought about trying to grow your own fruit & vegetables? You don’t have to have a huge space or be full self sustaining but even choosing a couple of things to grow can be incredibly rewarding, produce delicious fresh organic food, be cost effective & a great way to get kids outside playing and learning! 04.01.2022 Better late than never but Happy World Breastfeeding week! The theme this year is Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet and in line with the theme WHO & UNICEF are calling on governments to protect and promote womens access to skilled breastfeeding counselling. As natural health practitioners we are big advocates of breastfeeding for its health, nutritional and emotional benefits to children and mothers. However as mothers we understand that breastfeeding isnt alw...ays possible for everyone and that is okay! This week is not just for mothers that are breastfeeding or that met their breastfeeding goals, it is for any mother who ever wanted to breastfeed and wasnt able to do so. This week is about promoting & encouraging action and collaboration so all mother have access to skilled breastfeeding counselling so that they feel empowered and supported to breastfeed if its their wish! 03.01.2022 Stress & the menstrual system If 2020 was anything to go by our understanding of stress & it’s negative implications on our health is well understood. Stress ca...n wreak havoc for so many of our body systems & the menstrual system is no longer exception! Acute stress raises your blood pressure, cortisol & blood sugar. Acute stress in the follicular phase has a strong association with menstrual cycle dysfunction. Long term stress on the other hand leads to chronic activation of cortisol which impairs ovulation and depletes progesterone through dysregulation and dysfunction of the HPA axis. This continual exposure to stress sends a message to our brains that it is unsafe for a pregnancy to occur which suppresses our reproduction through irregular, abnormal or absent menstruation! To put it simply if you regularly experience stress you may find that your period becomes irregular, your periods may stop altogether or they could become more painful. Photo credit @duvet_days

02.01.2022 So true! With more time on our hands & more hours spent at home, one can feel an immense amount of pressure to achieve things. Lately there have been so many posts about productivity during coronavirus & whilst these are great motivators they can also cause anxiety surrounding not doing enough and lead to not doing anything for fear of failure. I just want to say that it is okay to not come out the other end of this pandemic with a rocking six pack, a handwritten novel and ...an online empire. Its okay to soak up the little moments in your life & savour time with your family. Moving forward doesnt have to mean hard core hustling, doing a little bit each day is still moving forward. So if you have been working towards a goal or merely just thinking about starting, the first step is often the hardest. Dont worry about what anyone else is doing, or what you feel you should be doing just try to concentrate on one day at a time & doing something small on the regular. If your health comes to mind when you read this & you are wanting some support please get in touch. We are available for phone consults and can help provide personalised achievable programs designed by degree qualified practitioners. See more
02.01.2022 My Doctor says that my test results are all fine. This is something that natural health practitioners hear all of the time! Everything is normal on tests yet you feel like crap & aren’t sure why. So what does all fine mean you might be wondering? ... Well pathology results provide medical practitioners with important parameters for diagnosis, monitoring & screening. In order to diagnose someone as healthy or unhealthy reference ranges are used. When your results fall within a healthy range you are deemed normal. Whilst reference ranges are important for ruling out extremes they do not often represent healthy ranges. This means that you can be showing suboptimal results but still be deemed as fine. So what do Natural health practitioners do differently? We view health from a holistic manner taking into account all body systems. We also work with optimal ranges as opposed to reference ranges. This means we are able to take a proactive approach with our patients health & have the time to piece together all of the pieces of your unique puzzle, in order to take action as soon as possible. Also for the record, you have a right to your pathology results. So even if you have been told your results are fine. If you feel otherwise it is okay to ask for a copy & to seek a second opinion. It’s your body, your right & your information.
